From this weeks code-a-phone:

January 1st, there will be a change in the payroll frequency for pre-merger Northwest pilots. What will occur is that north pilots will transition from a semi-monthly pay frequency to the common semi-monthly pay frequency paid on the 15th and last day of each month.
The way I read this, is this month your on the usual DAL-N schedule and next month you'll be on the DAL-S schedule.

One thing is not entirely clear to me. When does this AE thing really take effect for the new categories? As in, when are there going to be -88 pilots flying and bidding for lines out of MSP and when are 777 guys gong to be bidding lines out of DTW?

Does it say anywhere, or do the pilots just trickle into the base and start bidding while people fall in behind them later?

:D

The new category can start up any month during the conversion window, maybe all at once, but more likely in waves.
It's possible you could convert in Jan and be the plug for 6 months even though you had a 50% restriction on your bid. The qualifiers are for after all conversions.
DTW777 is particularly vulnerable, since it's counting on 2 airframes yet to be delivered.

Anyone,

Sorry for the thread creep here. Im trying to book a hotel room for my 767 bounces in DTW. They're not for another 6 weeks yet, but Im apparently past the deadline to make such arrangements. To talk to the people at DAL crew scheds, I have to use the VRS. Which of my passwords do I use to get through to them. Im not having much luck. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

G

Same password you use for ICrew/ECrew. Here is the translation to use for any letters in your password:

Heyas Buzz,

You got that right.

One of my very last trips out of MSP, I was sitting reserve, and I got called out to repo a DC-9 back to MSP.

So, I DH out to where ever (first ride on an RJ...wow, what a piece of, er, whatever), and wander out to the gate and meet up with the captain.

I had noticed that when I put his emp # in the ACARS that it was kinda low to be on reserve, so on the way back to MSP, I ask him:

Me: "So, er, how'd you wind up doing this? Reserve?"

Him: "no"

Me: "Um, ok, time available?" (NWA's recovery obligation)"

Him: "no"

Me: "pick it up on the open board?"

Him: "no...I live next to the airport, and scheduling knows if they need a favor, they can call me"

Me: "um, not to put too fine a point on it, but you know we have 700 guys on furlough, right?"

Him: "I don't care anything about that"

Me: "....."

I will allow our esteemed audience (even the Slow ones) to draw their own conclusions...

Nu

PS And yes, he wore long sleeves....I don't know what the deal with that is....weird

I think I probably flew a turn with that same guy, or at least one just like him... Pretty sure this guys was the #1 -9 Capt in MSP at the time. We flew a JFK turn, and this guy spent the whole time telling me why I was stupid to commute, and about how my retirement and wage rate was unsustainable. Then, to top it all off, he refused to push it up or try to cut any corners on the way back even though he knew I was trying to catch a commute flight. He quickly became the first entry on my "Avoid employee #" list. Don't remember if he wore long sleeves or not.

6 digit Employee number asterik then password (the same one you log onto ecrew/icrew with) If your password isn't all numeric you need to use the codes ( A = *21 etc) to input the associated letters. I think this is located in the password account self service link found on Deltanet home screen.
When all else fails call the chief pilot support center.

That sounds kind of like the one of the last guys I flew with before getting furloughed. First day of a three day and he asks me if I am going to get furloughed, I say yes and then he proceeds to b1tch about having to pay an assessment for furloughed medical and that when he got furloughed all he was told was "don't let the door hit you on the way out". Classy guy!

Thanks for the quick responses guys.
