Thanks Denny and others for the answers to my questions.
I concur with New, my DC-9 F/Os really work their butts off, esp. now with the recent changes. I am bringing them all our xmas cookies on my trips since my wife and I are on a diet. Anybody know if the MD88 will eventually come to DTW? It is the plane I need at my seniority! Thanks, BV |

Yes, they implemented the poilicy. I have one stupid letter in my password and so I have to hit a *72 combo in the midde of my password.
I just put the phone number, login ID, and password in my cell phone. All I do is call the number and the phone does the rest. With the touch of one button, I'm at the menu prompt. Very nice. |

Yeah I'll take it, thanks.
Sorry, feeling a little overwhelmed this morning. I forgot all about the room having to be done today, then noticed I had like 15 minutes to do it. I had printed out the sheet off the flight ops web site, and forgot I had it. So, tried my NWA pin.....to simple, should have known that wouldn't work :D Then tried to put the letters in like a text message with no * between them. Was going to throw the phone but my wife caught my arm. Called the chief pilot support center number instead. Wanted to take my stupidity out on the chief pilot support dude, but I was a good boy. Guess I'm not the first idiot to call with this problem. When he told me what my pass word would be:eek: I responded "I guess I need to change that to all digits". What a mess............in the words of a guy in the computer room in NRT last week........."I'm transitioned out" Ferd <---------sanity hanging by a thread - Select your phone and bring up the keypad (as if going to dial a number) - Type in the vru phone number - Hit the bottom left button (+person). This will create new contact. - You will see the line that has the phone number that you just inserted, select the page over arrow (>) on the right hand side of that line. - Now, in the lower left corner you will see a button marked "+*#" hit that - Next press "pause" - Next enter your 6 digit employee number and * - Next , hit pause again - Next put in your password - Next enter the pound button (this will end your long string of numbers and characters) - Lastly, hit the save button on the top right corner of your screen. This works great for calling the vru, however sometimes the password doesn't take and I get rerouted to someone in the 767 training deptartment (always get his voicemail). Just try again and it usually goes through to the VRU. Hope this helps, |

I can't help you much with "New Yawk speak". I do however, have many hours invested in trying to teach Gnewt how to speak "Delta". And yet he still goes outside to "kick the tyres" instead of "kickin' the tars".

Gnewt,
Just went through the same drill!! I finally gave up and talked to the chief pilot support system dude, (real thick southern accent) and he forwarded me to them. The lady was nice and set me up even though by that time I was 2 hours late. Good luck, Ferd PS VRS sucks!! Guess I need to rethink my passwork. At the present time it is 18 keystrokes............... I did the exact same thing. The lady was really nice. She told me that the "deadline" that was published wasn't really a deadline at all. More of a wake up call to get guys to set themselves up early rather than crash the system in the last week. I asked her if this was sort of like when your mom used to call you in for dinner. You knew that you had at least 5 more minutes of playing left. "Exactly!" she laughed. Gnewt |

I hope this helps strengthen your thread. I know that for me, at least it feels like the changes are slowing down a bit and maybe, just maybe I will be able to get some of my head out of the water. :)

Quick AE questions for those that think they know:
1. Is there a freeze incurred for getting an AE using reinstatement rights? (some training would be required) 2. if there is a freeze for VD's, how can they still be eligible for an award? 'tanks 8 |
