I doubt anyone cares what your two cents on the hat is. Pay raise or not.

Its a hat. Some wear it some don't.
My experience has been that those who do, carry themselves a little differently. Maybe a little more respect. But it is part of the uniform. I wear it because it is required.
They did not ask me how I thought the plane should be flown, and the sure as heck did not ask me if I wanted to wear the required uniform. I just do what I am told. It makes the job so much easier when you do not try to reinvent the wheel.

I think maybe the point is other airlines are furloughing. NWA boys just got a substantial pay raise, Im sure there are lots of furloughed pilots who would love to wear the hat for Delta.

First, thanks for supporting pay parity. With that said, we are now under the same (yes bigger) raise you got under LOA 19. Good for all of us.

Now, I think what AF is saying is there are some guys like Fatty who just don't like exNWA guys no matter what the issue. No big deal, we have them too. We'll both be able to spot them soon, they will be the guys standing at the edge of a room giving us all the stink eye while we mix and swap stories.

I just write guys like that off as "Debbie Downers" and press on.

It never ceases to amaze me how some guys really look at the big picture. The stock market has erased trillions in dollars in wealth, the economy is in a recession where companies will cut all non-discretionary travel, the credit markets are frozen, DAL/NWA have officially merged, and all some guys seem to focus on is the hat?? Really?? Get a freakin' clue! We as a profession should be focused on the big ticket items and not that mommy tells me I have to wear a hat and I don't want to.

The military and law enforcement wear hats as a conveyance of command. Why do you think it is part of the uniform? Just wear it. It's part of the uniform like black pants and gold epaulets are.

Well said. When it was required at NWA I wore it most of the time too. But it is fun to b&%#h about it, we have to b&%#h about something.....we're pilots:D

I think it is funny how Fatty hates NWA guys so much. He interviewed there in January and was offered a class date. He just happened to interview at Delta the next week.

He doesn't hate the NWAs he is just a huge pessimist. Actually a nice guy in person. Now the HAT i don't mind but GOOD GOD, the new WINGS have got to go. Good grief I can't believe I have to wear those wings. Talk about UGLY. Please note the sarcasm.
