Cause if it is, I'd hate to be an AK pilot. AA is going after them with a vengence (and 2000 guys on furlough).

That's a really good point and the APA does not take hostages.

I'd like to see us make a Richard Branson type entrance, but Japan isn't the place. Maybe if we dressed our flight attendants in school girl uniforms ... :)

I have an oppinion, I say yes include them per the golden rule but of course that doesn't mean I see the whole picture.

So your saying put guys who are on furlough in front of our guys? The view from the top may not look so bad, but what if they were all put in front of you?

You'd be fingered for sure. I'm now and MD88 pilot and pilots of other types don't dare touch me for fear some sort of goo which leaks from every orifice in that jet might get on them.

I am sure Alaska will make sure all of those guys are recalled. It really depends.

They told us at the time that we went to the Boeing books because it was a liability issue and the lawyers and insurance had driven the change.

The reason DAL went to "Boeing Books" was the Swiss Air 111 crash. After the crash, Leo asked the legal team who would be liable if there were a crash at DAL. The team reply, DAL because our manuals had us operating our aircraft differently then Boeing recommended. There was a system wide manual change starting the next day.

That is what I said, cool your jets. They are on the way over there. There is no press conference posted yet.

Also, do you not think that DAL saw the Alaska response coming?

No. I am not familiar with the concept of working for a management team who can look two steps down the road for anything other than negotiating crappy contracts with my union.... ;)

I was talking to the person who wrote the FCTM for the MD88, my understanding is our "Boeing" books were actually written in house based off the 777 manual or the 767 manual and then made to match. Or maybe that was just the case on the 88.

I agree with 80, download the 320, 9, 330 or 744 manuals while they're still good lookin.

The current Boeing books were Deltaised using the 737-800 as the model.
