Add "again" to that statement and it would be more accurate. There are still a couple hundred furlough bypass guys who will soon return on top of current Delta pilots. At the bottom there are pilots on BOTH sides that got a pretty unfair merger result using rational benchmarks to keep score of what was the status quo.

Hopefully, if they decide to merge again, it will be done during a period of expansion as to reduce the harm to pilots who have already seen a decade of stagnation and in some cases, steady moves down the ladder.

FWIW, Alaska is not so large a group that Delta would need to make the same compromises to keep the AS side happy. With the input of a more balanced MEC more intent on representing its members (instead of National and without the pressure of Mutual Assured Destruction) I would expect a much better outcome than the junior pilots received in the last round of forced mating.

Maybe. Depends on if I want to stay up tonight since I will be up all night tomorrow night. Got one of those pesky European trips :D

Consider it prep for the next time. Up all night, sleep in tomorrow, up all night. Come on, you're the All Star Panel.

I'd like to see us make a Richard Branson type entrance, but Japan isn't the place. Maybe if we dressed our flight attendants in school girl uniforms ... :)

They really don't. Cut throat all the way.

I hope they hand picked the flight attendants. If they were going to make a grand entrance, this would be one place where seniority should NOT rule.

I remember riding on the van with a -400 crew and the jr. FA was 26 years! And that's when were were hiring.

I'd actually be on the bottom 5% looking up so to me I'd already have 1347 pilots put ahead of me, whats another 106 for the purpose of making sure furloughed pilots aren't left out?

If we had furloughed 500 pilots as we were once rumored to be looking at, that'd be me, and then merged I would not have wanted to be left out of the SLI and in all honesty given our current situation (such as possible hiring looming) then we could absorb 106 additional pilots.

But if we didn't, that's selfishly no harm to me, if we did, I'd be fine with it.

Just a random thought.

It probably had a lot more to do with the BK, and the cost of manuals; lots of airlines operate differently than Boeing.

FtB do not say that too loud it may be used against you.

Ice,
No actually it was because of visibility of lawsuits. That is just the way DAL has become.
