When does our new equipment freeze start? When we are awarded a new seat? (January), or when actually converted? (Aug). I got buyers remorse and want to rebid in May before I start training in June. Anybody know if that's legal?
If you have buyers remorse tooooo bad, you might try calling crew resources and pleading with them to let you out of the bid. As far as the JAL deal goes, I'm concerned about how much intra-asia flying we will do as compared to what we do now. Denny |

Your freeze starts the day the award is posted. In this case Jan 1, as mentioned before. The only way you will be able to bid something on the next bid is if it is a new category or you are bidding from FO to Capt.

Wow... they got a bit SC happy on you. I rarely sit all 6... and it's typically once a week. At least youve got the rest of hte month to chill at home on LC. :) |
At the risk of being one of those guys who always complains about the new Delta way:
What's stopping us from having REAL recall rights beyond 180 days, ALPA or the company? I mean, it just seems wasteful to bump a guy from a position, then later refill it with someone who needs to go thru a full training cycle. As opposed to returning you to a position where you might need only two or three sims. What really gives? New K Now |

This is something that will probably need to be revisited. Heck.... I may end up spending less than a few months on the fluff if things go the way I think they will. |

So let me get this straight, JAL is dumping virtually all widebody flying (ie international) including these YouTube - Delta JAL and focusing on domestic narrowbody flying. Seems to me, no matter how you slice it somebody is going to have to backfill at least some of those flights beyond what Delta currently provides? The domestic operation for JAL wouldn't be worth much (ie cash flow positive and profitable) without feeding warm bodies from the US, Europe, etc.
In addition, doesn't JAL do a fair bit of international freight hauling? |
