How do you do that - your max contribution to your 401K is $16,500 and another $5,500 if you are over 50 for catchup contributions. If you contribute above that it's not tax deferred.
You are right I contribute both tax deferred and non-tax deferred. |

Hmmm. The raked wingtip takes the span out horizontally while the winglet takes it to the vertical. Both achieve essentially the same performance effect. Not sure how the same wing with a winglet would have a longer span than with a rake.
The new blended winglets extend the span on every aircraft they have been installed on. They require the wingtip to be a certain chord to work properly. If you also think about the dynamics of a aircraft making a 90 degree turn the raked tip gives additional clearance. The winglets Boeing had planned for the 400 extended the span 16 feet and the raked tips extend the span 14 feet. The winglets that avaition partners puts on the 767-300 extend the span 11 feet. |

The raked wing needs less strengthening in the wing box. The winglet needs added strengthening in the wing box due to wing flex. There is a weight savings associated with the raked wing.

Question, can a reserve pilot pick up trips from the swap board?
You can reduce your RAW value for a yellow slip, or agree to fly on an off day for a yellow slip. It does not guarantee that you will get the desired trip, so be careful. It simply states that you want to fly, and here are my requests that coincidentally they do not have to honor. They will honor them if they choose to, but if the trip you want is already assigned and they need another body, you will get assigned the that trip even though you did not request it. Remember that any assignment over 12 hrs to report is your responsibility if a slip is in. Under 12 to report and it is a proffer. |

The weight difference is substantial on the 300ER the winglet mod adds 3000lbs of weight. This is because the winglets induce torsional bending loads the wing was not designed to handle. The wing requires a lot of beefing up before the winglets are bolted on.
