Buzz,
After hearing you say more than once that the mergers over "get over it" every time a northie raised a flag or two about the way Delta does things it was very refreshing to read your post. We are a very professional group of guys on both sides and I think that's why the "train by memo" routine irked alot of us. But as you can see from your recent experiences that former NWA pilots are just like you, professionals interested in doing the best they can to get their pax to where they are going safely. |

The short call question is in regards to the legalities of consecutive short call assignments. Let's say you are on SC today until 10 PM. At 3 PM skeds assigns you another SC tomorrow AM. You are not released; you must still sit out SC until 10 PM. Can you be considered legally rested when you are technically on duty, even though they didn't use you? Questions are being raised about this practice.
That is how it was explained to me when that question was raised. IMHO on SC isn't "rest" but until someone in authority comes along and defines the term, it is what it is. |

Oh I agree!! I have no idea what that means for Guam, AirMic + United will be tough.
I have no real statistics, it just seems farmer logic that they were bleeding more cash than us with nothing but big widebodies in NRT. We were flying A320s (then 757s after the SARs recovery) on the "thin routes" going south. I really think it would be interesting to see load factors and yield out there the last decade. Like I said, no data but I think we did it the smart way while we were holding on during bankruptcy. Any new rumors from the NRT breakfast club:D........I haven't been out there for a few months (going back out later in May). Ferd PS for the fDals, the petri dish of all good rumors are at breakfast in NRT:cool: |

Your right on track it is in the same location. Just get started down the hill there and you can't stop till you get there. Hope to see ya there.:D
It'll be my first dinner stop if/when I get back to Narita!:) Is the "Flyers" club/bar still there? The last time I was there Richard Branson had just opened up a english bar/pub. At least that was the rumor going around. I heard the "trailers" shutdown awhile ago. Ferd, I'm glad your up for it 'cause, depending on the length of the layover, I might need some help finding my way back to the hotel!:D Denny |

So now Ual/Cal are going to be the worlds largest airline. Guess we need to change the American Express Skymiles card commercial.
And if these clowns that pose as DAL management want the bragging rights to being the biggest airline in the world (justifying the biggest bonuses I guess) then they better get some more mainline aircraft and continue to eliminate the outsourcing of our product and profits to DCI. Scoop |
For y'all flying Asia, what do you do as far as getting local currency in Japan, China, Saipan etc? Do you use a credit card, ATM's, hotel etc.? Thanks,
Denny |
