Slow,
I don't know what software they use to assign trips. Their default position when you question an assignment is that "it's legal." After agreeing with them that's it's legal and you're doing the best you can, the follow up question is "why did you assign a 05:00 short call to a 6:30 departure instead of one of the 03:00 people?" They answer to that is, "we don't do it, the computer does it. The computer looks for availability two hours prior to departure time." IMHO, that software should be written to 3 hours, as to:
I always thought the two hours was to the airport, not to wheels up. If they changed it, they took an hour away. But others have used this system for years and maybe there is an angle I'm not considering. Hence the vetting here. Thanks for your reply. |

I still have all my stock. :D
$3- to $4-Per-Share Earnings Projected For Delta Air Lines (DAL) Once Recent Acquisition Realized Our second choice is Delta Air Lines (DAL). The 2008 acquisition of Northwest Airlines catapulted Delta Air Lines into the number one position by any measure - revenues, costs, traffic, routes, fleet size and so on. Delta has a strong international route structure, including a dominant position in Asia, especially in Japan, where they are the second largest airline behind Japan Airlines (JALSQ). Delta is a member of the SkyTeam alliance and is a major player in the New York-Europe market. Delta's U.S. domestic hubs are located in Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis, New York, Salt Lake City and Cincinnati as a focus city. Delta is currently about 40% international and 60% domestic, and is moving towards a 50%-50% international/domestic mix. Once the synergies of the Northwest acquisition are fully realized, probably this year, Delta's earnings could easily reach the $3- to $4-per-share range. We believe the shares can sell at eight times to 10 times estimated forward EPS, implying the stock could trade to a range of $24 at the low end - eight times $3 - to as much as $40 at the high end - 10 times $4. |

Years ago, DAL used to tanker fuel from one state/city to another based on the difference in fuel costs, SUPPOSEDLY saving a bunch of money...FWIW. Since you're on the 747, I'm guessing that DAL is trying to learn the details of your aircraft and how it relates to the current flight-planning system. Since it's still early in the process, probably better to carry too much fuel, where only the crew and dispatch/planners see the result than fuel stop in ANC or HNL and EVERYBODY sees it, IMMHO;-) |

Just got back from CDG on Sat, great trip! Crew was the MSP CP, the head MSP LCA, me and two southie RPs (one each direction of course).
Great job by the southie FOs with the little things on the 767 that even the LCA hadn't been taught. Also, the RP was much more involved than what we used our's for back when. I like it much better, makes getting off the gate a lot easier. One BIG change that we tried was the south crew rotation. If you look back about 100 pages, you'll see a discussion about this and my worthless opinions..........well let me tell you, I'm now a huge convert to the south rotation way. It was my leg coming home, so I took second break while the Capt took third. Wow, what a difference on how you feel during the decent, approach and landing. Also, I like that FMC reporting thingie a lot! (daaa):D Ferd |

Ferd, $18-$20 was my initial target, but I'm re-thinking as well, after all, it can come all the way down to $4 before it's a loss! :D |
