So is there any more information on this possible DC9 freeze LOA that is about to take place?

Is there anyone on here that would have a SERIOUS problem with this? Our union seems to think they can negotiate any TA without any pilot input.

I won't give you the long story about how many freezes I have had in my short career with NW/DAL but it ain't pretty.

LaHood, FAIL.

The Windy City got its name from its politicians... LaHood, Obama, Emanuel, all IL/Chicago politicians... UAL is the "Hometown Airline" and just recently headquartered in Downtown Chicago. With IL $13B in the red, UAL will get whatever it wants. Just watch!!!

I agree. I've never understood why we do it this way. The old NWA way sounds much mo betta. If I didn't have my Air Force pension rolling in at the first of each month, I'd have some issues.

You know, you can save money from the 15th to pay for stuff on the 30th. You don't have to spend it all by the 16th.

The answer I was given was because of the reserve guarantee. If you actually flew each of your 22 days of availability you'd catch up and be paid the same as a line holder. I've never done the math to validate that statement.

I'm with you. I'd like each day of reserve to be worth credit (just as it is if you drop a day of reserve) and each day of short call to be worth a little more. Any flying over credit would go over.

What DC9 freeze LOA are you referring to? Called a rep - never heard of it.

Fly, no LOA yet. Just something that they MAY do if they pull it down. Does not seem to be happening in the near future either way.

Still waiting since 2007 for several very soon items:
  • MD90's
  • more MD90's from China
  • even more MD90's from Arabia
  • a decision on 100 seat jets
  • hiring
While waiting for "very soon" I've got displaced twice.

Wish the good news arrived on schedule as regular as the not so good news.
