Airline share prices have now risen 73% from last year’s low, outperforming the equity market twice over;

2010Q2 results for 47 major airlines show a US$3.9 billion net profit, US$4-5 billion better than 2009Q2;

Jet fuel prices have shown little sign of moving far from $87/b average of past twelve months;

Air travel and freight in a slower phase of expansion but remain strong at annualized rates of 8% and 17%;

Capacity now returning to market. Risk of excess but published schedules remain in line with demand;

Load factors still above previous cycle high but starting to slip, slowing rise in average fares which still have 5-20% to go before back at pre-recession peaks.

Since the talk has turned to layover hotels I will offer this. Mycrewguide.com it is run by a Delta guy and is password protected.

It has all the layover hotels plus other info, such as hotel discounts. local eats, and other things to do. Best of all it is free.

It does depend on crew member input for information.

Thanks everbody! Good Info

Dunkin Donuts at the airport, fwiw, none of the cream filled donuts have more than 320 calleries. The reduced fat blueberry muffin comes in at 450 calories. The flat breads are under 400 calories but the chicken parmesan flatbread is near 500.

A frappachino at Starbucks is nearly 2 donuts.

Thats you're very random "eat this not that" thoughts from me for the day. Now, Panda Express (term E in ATL), you add 420 calories for white rice and 570 for fried, 400 for lo mein. Double orange chicken and rice is about 1,400 calories. However, I might still go have it for lunch. :D I am hard headed.

A chocolate frosted and a medium coffee with cream/sugar at DD is over 500 calories.

FWIW...but I do love them so...

The best is going to Starbucks in LGA or JFK and seeing the calorie counts. All of the "all bran" stuff is over 500 calories but the cheese danish is like 300. SCORE!

No more in LGA. It went fold-a-rama the other day.

I was there the morning after the employees got the word it would be closing, and no one bothered to show up. So it's like 7am and Starbucks was shuttered. The hordes of people were banging at the pull down gate like a scene from a zombie movie.

I skedaddled around the corner for some DD goodness.

Whats with the 3 hour sits in outstations like BDL? You get there and hand the keys to a crew thats been sitting for 3 hours and then when you're sit is up you get the keys from a crew that'll sit 3 hours.
