Beware of Asia trips that don't transit Narita. I'm on a 13 day where the only place the layover is long enough for laundry is Nagoya. We hit Narita towards the end of the trip, but we get in too late and leave too early to get any laundry done there. Ferd; Has trip quality gone downhill at your seniority, if so, by how much? I thought all you did was lie on the beach and snap your fingers. It sounds cheaper to buy new skivvies than do laundry. |

New bases? Possible or not? Likewise, by going to HNL, that opens a gateway to NRT, and all the possible variations of that, including 12 day trips. AMS has been talked about, and if we start SLC-AMS this winter or spring, then I'd expect to see more positions added to the category, on a subsequent bid. I'm sure that you'll see hub to hub flying on the 757, and that would make it possible to fly intnl. out of MSP, DTW, ATL, JFK, on certain days of the week. SLC is geographically positioned to make it an efficient ER base in terms of low credit/high block hours. Rocky mentioned that the -800 will be losing trips to the -320, and that the -800 will pick up some of the 757 domestic flying out of SLC. Once the T.O.E.'s are done, I think you'll see a fair mix of domestic an intnl. out of SLC. |

Until they start stinking up the other clothes in your bag, it's all good. 4 sets should easily last a 12-day trip. |

80, being called stinky is at least better than being called Ole Stinky Pants.
A Captain was telling me about a 727 A, long long since retired, who wore the same shirt all 4-days with no undershirt, in the summer. Claimed he didn't sweat. The FE wrote on his shirt secretly just to see if it was true. :D |
