First, random thoughts by FTB = my sensei teaching me how to surf. Its all good.

Secondly, Tony Romo blows....with that, I will concur. On the other hand, Aaron Rodgers frikkin rocks. Go Pack!

Thirdly, say what? Bacon good, poundage ok? Sweet!

With the last news on the AE from flight ops, here is a couple questions for the "oh wise ones on here":

1. What are the international destinations from SLC if we are going to convert to ER catergory? Obviously there will still be alot of domestic.

2. More 777s in DTW or ATL? More 747s in DTW or ATL?

3. New bases? Possible or not?

I just don't know if I see an ATL 747 base, we don't even have 747s here right now I don't think. On the otherhand the 330s have been here for a long while and 320s are everywhere. I'd think it'd be wiser to open those two here in ATL and a DTW 88 base.

Or, really, just ATL 330 given the nature of the flying and that a cxld'd 320 in ATL can be replaced by an 88 and vice versa with DTW.

Agreed. If more 747s materialize, maybe, BUT, I'd expect more whales to go to SEA or NYC first.

But since more airplanes is advantageous to the pilot group, the chance of them materializing is fairly slim.

With that said, now that Click is defunct, their 717s need a home, and they have the same avionics suite that the Saudia MD-90s have...put them together, and you have a 50+ airplane category...things that make you go hmmmm, but my guess is that Air Tran will pay a high price to keep those out of DALs hands.

Cuz on the 320 there is no MSP,DTW or MEM service to ONT...used to be..but no longer. So we pack our trash and fly to LAX.

Only good thing is that you can ferry the birds in your jeans and running shoes:cool:

Beware of Asia trips that don't transit Narita. I'm on a 13 day where the only place the layover is long enough for laundry is Nagoya. We hit Narita towards the end of the trip, but we get in too late and leave too early to get any laundry done there. I knew Nagoya would be bad, but they just dropped off my stuff and it's 9,170 yen or about $108.

Yes, I bid it knowing laundry would be a problem. But, WOW!!

Ferd

F. Laundry Expenses
Laundry expenses for a pilot will be reimbursed as follows:
1. A domestic category pilot is not entitled to laundry expense reimbursement.
2. An international category pilot who is engaged in international operations is eligible for
reimbursement for laundry expenses incurred at a layover city if his rotation contains an
ocean crossing and has a time away from base (TAFB) of 96 hours or more:
a. a receipt is required, which must be submitted through the electronic expense form,
and
b. the maximum reimbursement is $50.00.

Nu;
AAI has been looking for a replacement for their 717's so they may not want to bid the price of them up.
