Let move onto what this thread is really about: good lookin'
I wanted to point out to all those Auburn people who keep saying their girls are hot that a Michigan girl won the Miss USA Pageant. (Also a U of Michigan grad): http://cdn.bloginity.com/wp-content/...-Pageant-2.jpg She's from Dearborn, MI which is only 15 miles east of DTW. But don't bid DTW because of her - she's headed to law school. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...r-08120606.jpg |

I suppose you would rather give those instructor jobs to non seniority list pilots or out of seniority pilots when they can't meet training demands for instructors. I'd rather have guys that are really good seniority list instructors regardless of where they live or are based.
Yea, really man, don't you know that having line pilots train line pilots is SOOO passe'. I mean, goodness gracious, you'd have to hire extra pilots and everything! Man, where you been? NWA was the cheapest of the cheap, and could squeeze a nickle so hard they'd get 7 pennies. But they spent money where it counted. The IP/APD corps was one of them. Nu |

LONDON (AP) — Two of Europe's busiest airports closed early Monday morning as a dense cloud of volcanic ash drifted from Iceland, aviation authorities said.
The airspace over London's Heathrow Airport closed at 1 a.m. local time Monday (0000 GMT; 8 p.m. EDT), Britain's National Air Traffic Service said in a statement late Sunday night. In Amsterdam, Schiphol Airport, another of Europe's biggest air travel hubs, was closed until 2 p.m. local time Monday, a statement on Dutch airline KLM's website said. The restrictions affecting Heathrow — as well as Gatwick, Stansted and London City airports — will be in place until at least 7 a.m. local time (0600 GMT) Monday, the aviation authority said. Airports across Britain and Ireland were closed for much of Sunday because of the drifting ash. The shifting of the no-fly zone southward will allow airports in northern England — including the key cities of Manchester and Liverpool — to reopen after 1 a.m. local time. But all airports in Northern Ireland, as well as some Scottish facilities, will remain shut. |

Delta doesn't pay for our instructors to instruct anywhere other than ATL. I have a pretty strong hunch that North instructors will soon have to live in MSP or suck it up when it comes to commuting. The salad days are gone brother. If a former northie, or a southie for that matter, wants to instruct in ATL or MSP, they'd better figure out a way to get there and do that. The survey says that Mother DAL ain't gonna pay for it. Just the facts, ma'am. And, in fact, its not on their own dime. They get paid for the highest seniority position they can hold, they get much more control of their schedule. If they have to commute to MSP and hang out at the Holiday Inn, my heart does not bleed. Instructing is a cushie gig, especially for the line guys. It just got less cushier. BTW does that mean than any fNW instructor that can hold 777A is paid 777A and any fDL that is senior enough to hold 747 is paid 747A or do fences apply to instructor pay? |

Will you ever, ever....ever get tired of putting in a "plug" for NWA every even remotely conceivable chance you get? I can see it now, in 20 years someone will post "the sky is blue" and Nu will respond: "..humpf....back in the day of old Northwest.....why goodness gracious that was the happiest pilot group in all of creation....and those were the bluest skies any pilot ever flew in, I tell ya'."
How many fDAL pilots does it take change a light bulb? 50 - 1 to hold the bulb, and 49 to pick up the house and rotate it around him. How many fNWA does it take to change a light bulb? 5 - 1 to change the bulb, and 4 to *itch about how they used to do it in good old days. How many post merger pilots will it take to change a light bulb? 0 - we won't let them touch the light bulb Humor aside fellas, we better start getting used to getting squeezed big time by RA aka old NWA, and preparing ourselves accordingly. RA was not brought in to create the worlds largest airline so we could have twice the manpower, pay them all more, and be less efficient. Never mind the "my team" sports rivalries, fact was old NWA was a leaner, meaner, more efficient machine and it's coming our way. Nu is correct that with these guys you get it writing (and even then) or they'll beat you over the head with it. There was a reason our old PWA was twice as thick. Want a pizza? Here you go. What, you didn't order sauce, that's extra...... |
