Not "a" beer, "unlimited" beer. That's how I roll, baby. :D

Haha- hey mergers are good for something, right?

It's going to take many many years to live that one down! (better than many years of fences or animosity) :)

Yep. Fig, and his study guide, are awesome. He updates it regularly as well. Invaluable to understanding how all the magic works.

When I got hired it took me 8 years to hold ER F/O, but back then the airplane did nothing but 3 on, 4 off flying trips with 24 hour layovers in Europe. When a new hire can hold the airplane, that should tell us something....

PG,

Reserve sucks - this is true, but you can not compare time to 7ERB when we had flight engineers to today. Guys would be stuck flying sideways for years back then so it took some guys years to get to Narrow Body FO - and that was under the old reserve system.

ACL, got to admire your optimism, but you're going to do some serious brainwashing get north guys to take the whale of their pref, especially due to how low it went this time. I have no rational reason to want to fly that airplane, but want it I do, and when 10400 gets his whale, i plan to be right behind him. That thing is a work of art in motion compared to the unremarkable boeing and airbuss light twins out there in the market place. I'd love nothing more than to "mount" her spiral staircase and find my way to the cockpit (way up in that beotch) and drive her home all night long.

Sorry the spiral staircase was on the classic 747. 744 has a straight staircase.

As for widebody pay, I consider the the 765,330, 777, & 747 to be more in line with what widebody pay should be. No offense meant to the pay on the 767er/767/757. I can never figure out what the er pay is anyway, can some one explain the pay diff between the er and 767/757 category or is there one? Maybe that would clear the skies for me.:)

Prior to the 01 contract the pay was different for each type with the 7ER getting a nice boost above the others. THe union put out its proposed pay rates. In the end game the company agreed to the 7ER pay rates but surprised the union by bringing all the others up to the same rate. 7ER got the same percentage base rate but the 757 and 767-200 and 300 got bigger raises. Hard for the union to turn down free money even if it skewed the pay rates. The MD88 has also over the years received extra pay increases because we gave the company a very low rate to start in order to get them to purchase the aircraft back in the 80's. It has gotten several extra bumps in contracts.

You guys sure fill up the pages quickly.

I put in an AE bid of remaining at MSPM88B at X%. I used the projected category list of Dec 10 (from last AE), and did the addition/deletion from this AE, and I ended up a few % point from what I wanted (coulda went back to west coast:). I counted the MSPM88B position awarded, and it was 34, but the bid was for 70ish. My question is, are they counting all the unfilled vacancies as slots behind me, and therefore bumping my % in my category?

Thanks.

Must be. I bid it at 65% and without new bodies, I'm coming up with being there at 83%. They better hire...
