Question concerning pay protection. I was displaced last year from the 73N to the -88 and there's been nobody junior to me holding the 73N, so I've been pay protected. With this recent A/E, there were some pilots who were junior to me who were awarded the 73N. So when would I lose my pay protection? Is it their actual date of conversion or do I lose it now because they were awarded the position? On this A/E, I was awarded the -ER but, according to crew resources, I probably won't convert til November or so. I'm just trying to get an idea of where my pay will go over the next couple of months. I hate surprises!

You don't lose pay protection until the Junior Pilot is converted.
b) The pay protection will cease at the earlier of: 1) the conversion of a pilot junior to such pilot to a category with a payrate which is equal to or higher than the payrate for the 24.E.10. category, provided the award was the result of a vacancy posting awarded after SOC, or 2) 36 bid periods plus 180 days following SOC. Note: A pilot will not lose this pay protection if he was under a category freeze incurred prior to SOC until an award subsequent to SOC is made in which he was eligible to bid. |

YouTube - Hudson River Landing SPOOF ! Comedy Parody HILARIOUS from www.GoNewsNOW.net Leaked
I was going to put this on the DALPA forum.....but there are way too many uptight people hanging out on there getting whipped up by ******* {edit, communications committee chairman} these days. Surely one or more might be offended. So instead, here you all go. Remember, follow WWHE&PD (What Would Hawkeye and Pierce Do) and laugh a little and you will stay well balanced when all the cr@p hits the fan this summer travel season. Don't sweat ramp agents, unplugged power cords, AE's, conversions, DHing, long taxis, crew meals, rest seats, feline collectors and the such. Recognize that there will always be a "Frank Burns" or someone that has a h@rd on for commuters slithering around. Just don't let them get to you.:) |
I got called 4 times in 2 hours by Crew Scheduling. They have a DTW-SAN redeye back that they can't cover. I didn't feel like flying tonight so I just ignored them, but I have a feeling there will be a lot of that this summer. Definitely could have got my rolling thunder on this month.

I just noticed in iCrew a note at the top talking about booking positive space DH. It says starting tomorrow (May 26 at 0930), we can book positive space travel after you deviate at the end of a rotation, via iCrew. Looks like the beta test worked fine.
Looks like you go to NRSA Travel -> Jumpseat/Deadhead then last items and follow the prompts. |
