Now that part sounded eerily like my wife. Anyone got a 13 day trip I can have? Or an Afganistan deployment?

Read the rest of the frikkin post dude! Yeah, Nosmo was all over the first line regarding AWABS, which, incidentally, was addressed to you, not him. Only problem? There were like 25 additional lines that completely ignored the subject.

Yeah, its going to difficult to affect change when guys like you and Nosmo are shooting from the hip with absolutely zero credibility, references or objective observations. Only the tired, increasingly tired, emotions of "man, we got screwed!" You want an objective debate? That's what I do for a living. Flying for Delta is a hobby.

As for Nosmo, 50% of your ATL departures are late due to late AWABS? Really? Show me. Or ****. You guys are a bunch of whining *****es. I'll ask ops to show me late departures out of ATL due to AWABS for the 330 and the 747. I can guarantee you that you are nowhere near 50%. 5% maybe, 50%, prove it or shut up.

Buzz,

You are all fired up nowadays. What cha writing about?

No, seriously. I am in no way interjecting myself into this debate, but I will say that I often have to wait for my AWABS numbers. On my last trip, we had to wait 2 out of the 8 legs. Both times were in DTW and both times the agent hadn't done what she was supposed to do. But, I have waited at the outstations, too. We've still got growing pains going on. On my last flight in, I even heard a 73N guy complaining on the ramp in DTW about some confusion with the gate assignments and parking job and snuck in a quick "buzz" on the ramp frequency, in case it was you.

I'm staying out of this one, because I've got bigger fish to fry right now. But, I will say that both "sides" are adjusting and if we were to look at things from the "other sides" perspective, maybe we could all get along better on here.

But, if you guys want to squab, that's fine too. It's always entertaining. Maybe, I'll join in on the fun when I free up some time. :D

If newK has bigger fish to fry, that means the BP oil spill will be corrected tomorrow.

Buzz

I am with NewK on this one I have waited for AWABs as well at both fNwa and fDAL bases. Oh well **** happens and the numbers get delayed, why is everyone getting so worked up over this issue. Like you said it is getting better and I am sure with time it will be fine.

If Nosmo or Carl say they have had delays because of AWABS there is no need to take it as a personal insult. Sometimes I just think guys are getting too sensitive and turning things in to an us vs. them thing. Lived through that once no desire to do that again.

Plus I thought you never flew anyway ;)

Then again maybe my luck just sucks. I had two gate failures on my current 4 day trip. Twice we pulled up to park and the gate wouldn't work, once in DTW and the very next leg in SFO. ****! How often does a gate fail? Both times we had to wait for maintenance to come out to fix the gates.

My point is this (besides the fact that I should avoid casinos and not waste money on lottery tickets) - Some guys think S/E taxi creates an unnecessarily high workload for the FO. I think it is fine unless you get a runway change, which I guess does not often happen to many guys except me - carry on.

Scoop

S/E taxi whenever, and then when you get a RWY change, slow down the operation.

Excuse me, it's not fixed yet? I've got to go make a call, so the BP CEO can "get his life back." :(

I am pretty sure they have significantly more than 2000 apps! ;)

The more new hires the better.

They are stating that by the fall AE we as a group should have a really good idea on where the a/c will be based.

NewK, not to tell you what to do but just a suggestion, why don't you grab that Dutch kid from Aruba that killed Natalie Holloway and stuff him in the pipe to plug the leak?

That's right and that last part is the key, a good pilot slow's the operation down when that situation occurs.
