I am in no way interjecting myself into this debate, but I will say that I often have to wait for my AWABS numbers. On my last trip, we had to wait 2 out of the 8 legs. Both times were in DTW and both times the agent hadn't done what she was supposed to do. But, I have waited at the outstations, too. We've still got growing pains going on. On my last flight in, I even heard a 73N guy complaining on the ramp in DTW about some confusion with the gate assignments and parking job and snuck in a quick "buzz" on the ramp frequency, in case it was you. I'm staying out of this one, because I've got bigger fish to fry right now. But, I will say that both "sides" are adjusting and if we were to look at things from the "other sides" perspective, maybe we could all get along better on here. But, if you guys want to squab, that's fine too. It's always entertaining. Maybe, I'll join in on the fun when I free up some time. :D |

I am with NewK on this one I have waited for AWABs as well at both fNwa and fDAL bases. Oh well **** happens and the numbers get delayed, why is everyone getting so worked up over this issue. Like you said it is getting better and I am sure with time it will be fine. If Nosmo or Carl say they have had delays because of AWABS there is no need to take it as a personal insult. Sometimes I just think guys are getting too sensitive and turning things in to an us vs. them thing. Lived through that once no desire to do that again. Plus I thought you never flew anyway ;) |

OK, Simultaneously was a bad choice of words. What I mean is doing a S/E taxi and then getting a runway change. I seem to get a different runway then what we plan on quite often. You still have to start the second engine and do the runway change items. The order is not important - the fact that you are very busy is.
Then again maybe my luck just sucks. I had two gate failures on my current 4 day trip. Twice we pulled up to park and the gate wouldn't work, once in DTW and the very next leg in SFO. ****! How often does a gate fail? Both times we had to wait for maintenance to come out to fix the gates. My point is this (besides the fact that I should avoid casinos and not waste money on lottery tickets) - Some guys think S/E taxi creates an unnecessarily high workload for the FO. I think it is fine unless you get a runway change, which I guess does not often happen to many guys except me - carry on. Scoop |

45 was mentioned last night, I was suprised to. They did say after the flow ups though, only 140-150 off the street with 2000 applicants. So, a tough market.
The more new hires the better. They are stating that by the fall AE we as a group should have a really good idea on where the a/c will be based. |
