FTB;
I love it when you get off the meds. :eek:

Producing aircraft that we not meant to compete was the job of Dornier and Douglas.

That new garden spot led to a very nice realization on our transcon a few days ago, time to stock up on Malarone.

When, not if that technology arrives in the commercial sector, we will need to find a different way to be compensated.

We will be doing ATL-NRT-ATL day lines if not! :eek:

The EMB-1200 would be the coolest airliner yet, outside of the 747 and MD-88. :D

And think about the great confusion among the passengers when they refer to the mainline Delta EMB-1200 as a jet. Because if its at mainline, its "a jet" while anything at the all jet DCI is, I guess, "not a jet." :confused:

Come on, long live mainline props!

All joking aside, 400 knot 70+ seat turboprops that CAL mainline pilots consider a 735 replacement, will be soon joined by stretched or clean sheet 90+ seat ATRs and Dash's. I know you believe me ACL, but if someone else doesn't check out this:

ATR in advanced talks with GE, P&W for large-sized turboprop engine

U-CAL, thats United and Continental, have jumped ahead of Delta Air Lines in the "race" to get the 787! Word is, the 787 is compromised but nobody knows how much but Boeing has said they have significant design improvements that start with the 25th Dreamliner.

Meanwhile, FTB is shoring up in his mind the Embraer 1200. Its an EMB-195 stretched to seat 120 with a straight wing and massive turboprops and main gear trucks for coolness. It'll burn 50% less fuel than any jet version of similiar size, wait, 54%. Hell, I can do this like the professional pinheads that figure out the number of hurricanes each year... the EMB-1200 will save 20%-95% in fuel. Its the game changer that EMB needs because lets face it, the E-Jets are not game changers and there is a chance the C-Series might not be either. EMB said in AW&ST that they don't intend to go into the same size market as the C-Series because their aircraft is not a game changer and why go into a heavily crowded market and get clobbered every way possible? Hence, FTB's, EMB-1200.

No picture yet, if picture is needed, go look at Mrs McPhee a few pages back for a few minutes.

AMR to train managers in case of FA strike.

Just one question: does it have "the yoke"...

Cheers

Here's the 737 I talked about 2 weeks ago. Left RNT, at BFI now. Out of paint shop, on the completion line.

Were you on Slick Willie's Africa Tour? I was working East Cell of TACC when all that was going on. If the balloon had gone up while he was there we would have been hosed. Every C-5 in the inventory was involved in that trip.:eek:

No way it was a former fighter pilot....everyone knows they go straight to mainline and wouldn't be caught dead flying a regional!:p Flame ON!!!!
