Hi FTB,

I question the accuracy of your data. Your numbers indicate (if I'm reading it properly) that there have been only 3 G/S trips handed out in the MEM DC-9 CA position for June. Is that correct? If so, I own ALL three of them, as I'm on the 3rd one right now--a 2 day FNT overnight. There has got to be some other guy on the -9 who has flown a G/S this month besides me, doesn't there??? On another note, I got to fly with my first ALL DAL/south F/As, and they were really great. Enthusiastic, good at their job, and, and "...just darn glad to be here..."

Good to hear about the DALS FA's.

No the IA and GS numbers are from May 2010, the number of pilots in each category is from June since I can't find the PBS line counts for May since they're already off Deltanet. The reason I used PBS line counts is because I just wanted the actual pilots eligible to recieve a reg/res line.

For May, don't ask me why I went back and checked, but MEM DC9 A only shows 3 GS's and 0 IA's. In fact for all of May it only shows 20 GS's for the 9 A in all 3 bases. I'm getting the numbers from deltapilots.org library via the scheduling committee. I tried to spot check the numbers but there I'm sure there is something missing on one of them- hence the preemptive big bird and crayola box.

I'm still curious about the A330. Do we have any A330 pilots posting on here? :D Or all you out rolling in coin?

You sure like Big Bird don't you FtB?

I saw a DTW 744FO GS a 5 day this month.

The trip was worth 36 hrs of credit for 16 hrs of block. Now that's rollin in coin. :D

Seen plenty of those on the ER as well.

Back in the snow days in ATL I saw someone from my class, and a reg pilot, get a 4-day where you flew ATL-JAN (Jackson MS) and then sat there until day 4 and flew back JAN-ATL. So what is that, 5.15 x 4 x 2 = 41 hours for what, 2 legs and 2 block hours of flying? Sweeet. I don't care if its JAN, I can hang out at the Bass Pro Shop for 2 days for $3600.

Now if you had been on reserve wouldn't that just be, um... $190?

You know whats funny about the 88 now is if there is a 3-day it seems as if 90% of them have a 32 hour layover. I may be wrong about the 90%, but I'm just saying it feels like its 90%. Which I don't mind the whole day break, especially when you're 1030pm arrival lands at 245am and the hotel says get a cab and yeah, that's easy at 245am, and so you get to the hotel at 4am. Yeah, I need the day off after that fun.

It matters. Passengers notice.

All other things being equal, give a businessman a choice and he'll take jetBlue or Virgin just so he can smile and enjoy the interaction with the flight attendants during the flight. Young enthusiastic FAs who are glad to be there create a much more pleasant atmosphere than the slave ship feeling that permeates the cabin on some of our flights with the "highly experienced" crews.

While I agree to some extent with your statement, it goes much farther than that. JetBlue offers a superior product (apples to apples of course) to our coach experience. Can't speak for VA as I've never flown on them.

Number One biggest reason JB wins customer service ratings over us is they don't overbook flights. When they sell all the seats they are done. When you buy a seat you see just how many are left and you know where you will be sitting. How many times have you stood at the gates while throngs of people surround a gate agent with paid for confirmed seats and have been told we are over sold and we need volunteers?

Secondly, the seat is far more comfortable in the 190 vs our mainline planes up to the 75. More leg room and wider and sometimes more cushion.

Thirdly, free live TV trumps paid internet to the average person.

Now I know JB is not in the same league overall. You can't fly to Copenhagen on JB. But when you compare our coach domestic product to theirs, we come up lacking. We could have the best looking, happiest, most motivated workforce in the industry but they can't polish a turd.

Anyone got any ideas why DAL stock has taken a big hit the last two sessions? Real reasons, not some "i've got a secret" reason.

Completely unrelated, but I just saw on Larry King Live a guy who had his furnace fall over on him and pin his arm to the ground. He said he screamed for help for 12 hours with no answer. He was pinned for so long his arm started to die from no circulation.

He eventually was able to reach a saw, and he cut his own arm off!!!

I think it is related, maybe its an analogy of how we should go all cargo? In order to live.
