Catching up on some reading (and I am way behind) and noticed that we can no longer be dispatched ETOPS 138? Is that an op spec thing?
Pre-merger I've had dispatchers use ETOPS 138 numerous times over NOPAC. |

Good to hear about the DALS FA's.
I'm still curious about the A330. Do we have any A330 pilots posting on here? :D Or all you out rolling in coin? GS would give me a 120 in 30 FAR problem. |

Yes, we still post, but I have been unable to GS any trips as all my delays (DTW/ATL/HNL) have pushed me to 91 hours pay and credit in an 82 hour scheduled month with 4 duty legs.
GS would give me a 120 in 30 FAR problem. GS is pay no credit, FAR limits arebased on hard time. In the first month rolling thunder existed, I had around 210 hours of pay, but no where near the actual flighttime. Cha-frikkin-ching . There was a 777A who had around 270 for pay that same month. |

You're always there to shoot down anything which relates to a Delta pilot wanting higher pay, typically managing expectations. At least you're consistent.
The difference between us and the others might just have to do with the way the two groups have been treated over the last decade....personally I would like to have been kissed first!! btw, I'm a Delta pilot that wants higher pay. Is that "managing expectations"? |

We're a similiar shape and look. :D
Back in the snow days in ATL I saw someone from my class, and a reg pilot, get a 4-day where you flew ATL-JAN (Jackson MS) and then sat there until day 4 and flew back JAN-ATL. So what is that, 5.15 x 4 x 2 = 41 hours for what, 2 legs and 2 block hours of flying? Sweeet. I don't care if its JAN, I can hang out at the Bass Pro Shop for 2 days for $3600. Now if you had been on reserve wouldn't that just be, um... $190? You know whats funny about the 88 now is if there is a 3-day it seems as if 90% of them have a 32 hour layover. I may be wrong about the 90%, but I'm just saying it feels like its 90%. Which I don't mind the whole day break, especially when you're 1030pm arrival lands at 245am and the hotel says get a cab and yeah, that's easy at 245am, and so you get to the hotel at 4am. Yeah, I need the day off after that fun. |

Wha huh??? You view ATL as a problem airport? I can think of not one airport on the planet that is more efficient in terms of both aircraft and passenger movement than ATL. It's an engineer's delight. Architecturally, it is as boring as Nancy Pelosi's personality. Saying that JFK is substandard is like saying ted Kennedy was known to have a drink now and then....
Sorry, couldn't resist the political metaphors.. too easy:D That being said, what the hell is up with catering there? Even the pax assist folks were like "we don't know whats going on, its catering." We were 45 minutes late on Monday evening waiting for basic catering. We finally said screw it and departed with only water and ice. Not cool. We weren't alone. There were several other departures in the line up and they didn't get catering either. I did see a catering guy sleeping in his truck however. Hopefully DAL is addressing that train wreck. |

You don't get min day without having a duty period. So this trip would only give you 21 hours for a GS.

How many hours can you get for that typically in a month anyways? I know its not what you could get with rolling thunder but its more than you can get right now, right? |
July 767A ATL
While we are talking GS, next month ATL DOM 76A only has 5% of the category in reserves. That's right, 95% held a line. They will blow through the category pretty quickly.
