Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Tidbits from the CVG base meeting. Not much new but a few things worth noting:
8 more 90's from SAS "almost a sure thing." Also pursuing 90's from China Southern now, and JAL. Those are higher priority than the saudi 90's, due to the complications with the MD-11/717 cockpit. Will probably qual NYC on 90 in the fall, ATL in the winter/spring.
11 75's out of storage for 2011. DC-9-40's now to be parked by Q1 '11, instead fall 2010.
conversion of SLC 76 to ER only big change for this bid. ATL likely to follow "at a later date."
Not planning on closing CVG anytime in the foreseeable future. That being said, foreseeable future is about 12 months.

No more "base swaps" of aircraft (IE 320 to SLC/MD88 to MSP) for the foreseeable future.

Question for those of you who get the big picture....if they put the ER in SLC does that mean the regular 767 category will go away and those on the ER will likely continue flying the domestic trips the current 767 category flys with a few international/Hawaii trips thrown in where needed? Trying to make sense of how that would work.
Yes but it will be a new category so there is no guarantee that the current 75/76 domestic guys will hold the ER. It will be open to everyone even seat locked people, I think.
That makes sense. Is it fair to say that in a couple years there will be no separation of 767 domestic and international....all 7ER international? I think they already converted LAX to ER? How does that work for reserves since international is different callout (24 hour?) than domestic. Do they have X number of domestic reserves and X number of international reserves for each given month?
Big picture, thats great news. I just wish they'd put A330 ATL so people would stop bidding down around here. Upwards movement would be great! And it might suck people back out of NYC as well and make space available for others on 765 NYC and so on. And if A330 MSP/DTW is short, as it seems to be with the GS's, then they could keep that staffing the same for all that matters, imhueo.
