Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
At risk contracts won't last very long. XJT proved that with the DAL contract in lax. These regionals will get hammered with 3 hour delay costs and higher fuel/labor costs. This will get interesting.

Man, you can't go to sleep around here anymore.

That's what I'm thinking. I don't see how you can operate a regional airline on at risk contracts on a long term basis. I guess it would be better to sell them both for 83 million and let Trans States and Pinnacle figure it out, but so far no regional airline has done at risk flying and lasted longer than 18 months.

I agree. Super & I saw it first hand at ExpressJet. It always blew my mind when a Legacy gave a 10 yr contract and paid for the gas. Blew my mind.
The game is changing. That's why RAH bought YX & F9 IMO. BB sees the end of the FFD gravy train.

I really don't think that they are selling because of the flow (my opinion is that it is a nice unintended consequence of the sale for some people). I really have to believe that Mother Delta is really focusing on getting back to being a very strong company. They are reducing risk (i.e. DOT fines, one level of safety, etc) for the company and ultimately shareholders. While gaining a little on the sale in dollars, this deal has to really help in reducing overhead and direct costs in maintaining 3 separate WO's. We appear to be focusing on the core of Delta Air Lines. This is good in my opinion.

DAL wants nothing to do with this stuff. They will find a way to off load them. It may not be much, but they will award or sell their 70/76 seat flying. DAL admitting there was not a buyer is very telling as to where there future lies.

More rumors. Just js'd on an Asa bird. Ca said they were adding lots of men and dtw flying. Also said that hanger in FDA is back in delta hands and said airport authority. Confirms md base.

That is what the mechanics that commute out of there think. AMR is in talks that are stalling with the DFW airport board for their gates. There is a opportunity there for DAL to grab a bunch of space if it wants it. We have a bunch of gates we are not using and we acquired those from AAI and moved them for a reason.
