The new projected category list for Jan 1 2010 is out from this last bid. Go see where you sit in a yr from now.

Any word on when the projected training schedule will be up?

acl65pilot 01-21-2009 01:15 PM

Next few days hopefully. With this bid and where everyone is moving both up and down. It is quite complicated and needs to be done correctly or there will be major issues with staffing.

Ok. I saw it and as a simple NWA guy, I have a question. The list shows where you are supposed to be next year this time. But, if a new AE comes out this summer, -- which some of say is going to happen -- then this list is meaningless. Right? As in, it's all subject to change according to whatever the next AE does in the mean time?? Is this what they do every time a bid comes out?

Yes, it is New.
It is just base on past bids not possible future ones. It makes guessing where you will be for the conversion period very difficult.
I have gone from a line holder to 70th on reserve from one month to the next.

Thanks, ACL. I think your example represents my concern perfectly. I am a person who doesn't mind sitting on the bottom of the list of blockholders, but would hate sitting reserve. I am trying to learn as much about your AE system as possible, but avoiding reserve seems impossible from a planning perspective, because you really can't plan at all.

It seems that if you want to make sure you never sit reserve you have to forgo bidding what you might hold to stay on something you can certainly hold, giving up the extra pay in the mean time.

The bottom line seems to be that if you are near the bottom of any list, don't make any plans, next month or even next year.

That's exactly how it works. Some guys don't mind the reserve and bid the equipment they want. Others, like me, bid what I know I can hold and still get a line, for less pay. Its a QOL tradeoff.
