True. We have seen some drop off but not to the level that others have. For whatever reason, we seem to be doing OK. Problem is that one week we are great and the next week these booking go through the floor. There is no real way to forecast right now.

Are there any trends with the ticket purchasing? Do they announce if it is business, leisure, domestic or international? Is Africa still running strong?

I've been trying to non-rev to Cairo/Tel Aviv, and the loads 3 weeks out are already looking pretty solid, with only about a handful of biz class, and coach is about 70% full. However, other European cities are showing a bit slow, but they seem to pick up a bit few days before departure. But i've definitely seen some slow down in the European side, and not just DAL, everybody i've talked to witness the same.

Northern Europe is a blood bath, but Southern Europe and Africa are doing quite well!

I just went to Orbitz and looked up non-refundable economy tickets for next week from JFK-LHR leaving on Monday and coming back on Friday. Most tickets around $1800, including DAL.

Go out 2 months or so to mid March, DAL is still around $1,500 but Virgin is get this... $120 roundtrip. The total price is like $400 with taxes included.

Is LHR a money loser?

Lagos is interesting. I could see how DAL's price of around $1900 is kind of a steal because you can go from the US direct to Lagos from ATL. Most carriers connect you via Europe and then their European carrier (KLM with NWA, United-Ethopian, Air France, UsAir-Lufthansa (2-3 legs), so forth) with ticket prices $1000 to 2 or 2.5 times more than DALs. Plus cargo its easy to see how its a money maker.

Northern Europe seems like a good place to fly 757's until the loads pick up.

Any 747-200 SO's in MSP care to chime in on how the flying is going? Are reserves flying? Are they even making you sit reserve in base?

Just curious as it appears I may be booted off the Bus.:(
