I plan on moving closer to JFK from SLC but am not planning on moving that close. So I’m reading that I will actually have to pay for my own move as a result of my MD.
Say it aint so.

I read it the other day and the way I read it you just have to move like 50 miles closer (check exact distance) to your new base to get the paid move. So living is SLC, if you moved to say Denver, then the co will pay for the move if "on a straight line distance" as it says in the contract, Denver is closer to NYC. You do not have to move to NYC or within 125 miles. There is a section on this in the contract under displacement.

On an aside, the contract is interestging reading once you get into it. The furlough section is interesting also. Hope it never comes to that but at least "you get a little something you know, for the effort."

The mention of 125 miles was in the contract sec. 6. I called 1800usaalpa to get clarification and was referenced to the duty pilot who told me you need to be within that 125 mile radius of your new base with a taxable address for Delta to pay for the move. So the move from SLC to Chicago will be on my dime, bummer.

Kind of quiet... calm before the storm? No rumors? Nothing? Remember the days when ACL and DAL4 would hit us with big news... what happened?

Question for NWA guys, what do those A320s for NBA charter do when NBA season is over? And do you guys bid to fly those or is that just in open time?

Trust me, no news is good news.

I can give you a little rumor though.....

If the loads continue to hold steady we may see a slight reinstatement of positions on the summer bid. (AE) It is a long way off, but that is what they are hoping for....

As for airplanes and base movement, that all has beaten to a pulp. Plus, a lot is in the works. I am sure that the second week of Feb the news will start brewing again.

Just keep praying that people keep buying tickets.

ACL are you saying that the advance bookings are looking good? That's the key to what happens to us all.

We aren't showing the precipitous drop off that others have shown. Lots of factors for that but hopefully the summer is strong. Other factors are that most recessions last 12-18 months. We are already in month 13. Depending on how severe this stays and goes, we could be looking at a recovery beginning in 12 months.

Do flying non-rev and buddy pass count towards upping our loads? I'll do my part in a heartbeat:)

We do NHL charters also and other sports teams. Its not just NBA. I have done one charter trip and i got it on reserve and another buddy of mine did one on reserve also. They are planned way out so its typically not a pop up trip unless someone calls in sick from what i have seen.

From what i can tell, they are sweet trips. You eat very well on those trips ;)

You eat well and the company makes some good cash of those charters.
