Oh well, had a good time in their Sunday night. Rare evening with a good crowd. We need to set up the APC reunion. Everyone can only wear their APC names on their "hello my name is" tag.

Ferd

PS I keep getting bumped off APC and having to relog in after every "transaction". Is anyone else having the problem or is it just this hotel's connection?

Great idea, just give us lots of lead time.I agree with Carls earlier statement about an elegant and fair SLI,nobody seems happy yet nobody is screaming bloody murder.
After SOC when equipment and routes start moving you guys are going to love TLV.The word I am still hearing is that before the fence is down ya'll will be flying the 777-300ER (747 replacement),you will really like the 777.
Looking forward to meeting my new wingmen in NRT(guess I'll have to bid it now) Finis

Any you guys know what the deal is with the fences, something about 5 years. Not really sure what it all means.

Deadhead, My public school interpretation is:the new 777LR's and all future deliveries for 5 years will go to OD's.The 787's(and their substitutions if DL doesn't take delivery) and the rumored 747 replacement(777-300ER) go to ONW's for 5 years. For all other new airframes, fights on.

Good to see everyone in such a good mood. Now I suggest that everyone hold on to your hats and tighten those seatbelts. A little prediction for those doing numbers and trying to figure this out. It is going to be a wild ride for the next few years even without the economy in the tank.

SOC will be done by September 2009 at the latest as it stands right now. Major changes coming in April with cross fleeting and refleeting of aircraft and where we go. We are all going to get so tired of deadheading we will welcome the SOC completion.

Delta will announce very soon a "new" aircraft order to take "full advantage of our new international presence" and to continue our "Fleet Simplification" plan. Bastain might even hint at it today at the investors conference. The decisions of the arbitrators with regards to replacement aircraft and subsequent filling of vacancies is well thought out. I just hope we stay out of court. As has been mentioned on this board in the past the 777-300 and A330/ 350? are in the stew pot. Not sure what will be selected but things are very fluid right now with Networking, Marketing, and Flight Ops.

We need to start a new constructive thread on the best places to eat in each other's respective frequent airports since we are going to be all over the place within the next few months. :D

Best of Luck to all, stay safe, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. BTW...if we work this right we might be able to actually "Take it Back" in 2012 and further solidify our postition as the World's Largest Airline. But that fight and thread is for another day.

There are no other new airframes other than the 777 and 787. so only one side gets to fight. I think the final list is fair. I do not like the fact that if Delta changes the 787 orders to 777 that, possibly, all the new airframes for 5 years will go to NW only. In 5 years everything should be pretty well settled down and it may be very difficult to displace someone off the new airframes.
