forgot to bid 08-12-2010 12:04 PM

The original was not though, T corrected it in his post in red.

Why do we spell it Air Lines though?

Actually, that IS the correct spelling....:)

I remember that during Mullin's "management", we dropped the "Air Lines" from our corporate name, henceforth to be know as "Delta". I don't know whether we changed that when emerging from bankrupcty (I think we did put the "Air Lines" back in "Delta").

Tsquare may actually be correct.

In that case, the reporter would be just as wrong to call us "Delta Air Lines", as he would be referring to the "Apple Computer Company", or "Verizon Communications Company" or something like that.

You can call me Ray, or you can call me Jay, or you can call RayJay, or.................... but you dons't have to call me Johnson.

Note: some of you whippersnappers that never watched Ed Sullivan might not get it.

I am almost totally out of the market, and have been for many moons. I prefer not to make money than to have my shirt taken.

I don't know.. I think it's important.. But he probably wouldn't find it disturbing if everyone called his home Los Angles...

Not to be confused with Delta Faucet Co., or Delta Dental, Inc.

In 1929, Huff-Daland Dusters became Delta Air Service. In October of 1945, Delta Air Service became Delta Air Lines, reflecting a focus on passenger operations rather than crop dusting. I remember in the late 1990's, a vestige of the past slipped by almost unnoticed.. Delta changed it's SEC reporting year from April to January to match other corporations. Why was it April? Because April was the beginning of the new crop dusting season...

I don't think anyone who sent a letter to the company asking for a job and got one used the word "Airlines".

There was no point there implied or otherwise. It was just meant to be silly. That's the problem with the Googles and the Internets and the Tubes. It's hard to convey your real meaning in text.

...or "Los Anglos". Which would definitely be incorrect.
