Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Of course, over at 31 Flavors, I heard something completely different...
I love Delta, Delta loves me, we're a big happy family with a great big hug and kiss from me to Delta, won't you say you love me too? Now sing a long people!

I mean, if you kick out Chilis, Burger King and the bar, that's only three open spaces. You can't get rid of the Starbucks, every airport terminal has to have at LEAST one, preferable two or three.
I haven't been to LGA in a few weeks, Does anyone know where in the terminal they are putting these *13* restaurants? Are we going to jam one into the Gate 8/9/10 mess we have down there?

I love that 748, and it is so efficient too.

I think they should build a run-of-the-mill New Jersey Chinese Take Away joint. I think having the increased dining options at the terminal while also effectively combating the rat/rodent problem at the airport would be beneficial to the NY/NJ Port Authority.

I guess the PGA and Brooks Brothers stores could pack it in. I'm sure they're not exactly breaking sales records at these locations.

I am all for shutting down the silly retailers in airports, it's a waste of space. People want food and magazines. Although whoever the brainiac who came up best buy vending machines deserves a pat on the back. Because that's good for the traveler who left his iPhone charger at the hotel only to be claimed by a pilot.

Well, there goes the fun of showing people the calorie counts on the BK menu. But good riddens you over priced food eateries!

Going across the Pacific isn't rocket surgery. It's on airways Class II navigation... no plotting chart required. (I found it interesting when they insisted on doing one anyway.. but to each his own) The main reason that -ER guys were going along (I being one of them) is that the fNWA guys had little if any experience flying over water.. and NONE in the -ER. A whale or -330 guy would have been a total waste of time and money.
HNL-Japan flights are done on flex routes, not published airways. There are/were actually two carriers doing a test program allowing them to change their flex route after each waypoint to take better advantage of updated wind data.
The plotting chart is a holdover from non-glass widebodies AND iirc some agreements with the FAA after some long forgotten GNE's. I could be mistaken about the GNE agreements. In any case its still useful if you get a reroute and its useful for plotting TPs for those that don't know how to build it in the box.
The only thing I agree with is that fNWA guys don't have a lot of experience in the 7ER. Most of them have 757 experience going on airways Class II to/from Hawaii. Having said that I am an ex 747/DC10 and current worthless 330 guy. In Asia I have many years doing JFK-Japan, MSP-Japan, ORD-Japan, SEA-Japan, PDX-Japan, SLC-Japan, SFO-Japan, LAX-Japan, ANC-Japan,HNL-Japan, HNL-Korea, HNL-SYD, HNL-GUM, Japan-GUM/SPN in both ETOPS and non-ETOPS aircraft and CPDLC and non-CPDLC/ADS aircraft. I guess I would have nothing new to offer to a 7ER crew flying over the Pacific.
