Actually they don't. All anyone needs to do is purchase or otherwise control 51% of the voting shares and the company is theirs. The good news is that I believe our management would implement some employee based poison pill plans that would make it very difficult for anyone to get 51%.

Anyone know if we can Zed Fare or ID90 on the BA flights from JFK to London City? It is on that 318 that is only configured with Business seats. I know the -400 is flying there with lie flat seats, I was just curious. TIA

The information on TravelNet for a ZED fare on BA says that the BA 1 / 3 and 2 / 4 (which are the JFK-London City and back) are embargoed for Zed Fares. Good idea though!

Either way it would be alot cheaper to fly JFK-LHR and take the train from LHR to downtown. Just not as comfortable.

Any DL 747 drivers:

I'm thinking about going to TLV this week out of JFK (I'm a connection pilot and flights look good on travelnet, I read on travelnet the long runway there is closed, and it may be weight limited.

How many seats are common (I don't need exact just looking for a ballpark) to be left empty on a weight limited flight like that? are we talking 10, 30, or 70+?

Just trying to get a handle on how much of a 'seat buffer' I would need.

How about an Airbus hijacked by its own computer?

Qantas passengers to sue Airbus over plunge terror
Sep 20 08:04 AM US/Eastern

Dozens of Qantas passengers and crew are launching a multi-million dollar case against Airbus and a component-maker over a terrifying mid-air plunge which left scores injured, a lawyer said on Monday.

The Airbus A330-300 was flying at 37,000 feet from Singapore to Perth in October 2008 when the autopilot disengaged and the plane nose-dived, plunging 650 feet (200 metres) and throwing passengers and loose items around the cabin. After the pilots brought it back to altitude, the plane went into another plunge and dropped another 400 feet. More than 100 people were injured.

He said he believed the captain of the flight, a former "top gun pilot from the US Navy", had not flown since.
"He has told me that when the plane went out of control, the computer would not give him back control of the plane and he said it was in a dive," Wisner told ABC Radio. "All he could see was the ocean. He has never been as frightened as he was at that point despite all his prior military aircraft training."
