Quite true. Notice how calm the ALPA board is.
I am glad to see some senior people taking issue with the issues of today.

I've pretty much punted the DALPA board since it is slower than molassas, and frankly it is quite boring anymore.

It matters to all points. Once the flying is given away it is gone for good. The more large rjs the less for Delta Pilots. No matter how you slice it.

As Bar said on the other thread, the problem is scope is being used as a bargaining chip by DALPA.

I think we all fear getting airplanes that can be parked in exchange for DAL getting airplanes we'll never fly.

I wish I had a union that understood that and cared about what this place will be like 30 years from now. Instead of too worried about just tomorrow. Puff up their chests and give themselves pats on the back and say "look how great we just did at securing your job with a no furlough clause" "you can thank me later" "all we had to do is allow more outsourcing and voila!" I would rather be furloughed than see one more large rj. If all the pilots before me stood so loosely on our flying I wouldn't have the job I have today. I am afraid all of this carving up of the farm and selling of its pieces for the short term will leave our children just hearing stories of what was once called main line.

Can somebody give a synopsis of NWA LOA 2006-10, 2006-14. I can't find it and need a little help. Details please! What's the current DAL MEC stance on this issue? Sorry if it's buried in the thread and I missed it.

Unfortunately, the other news posted on the MAT bulletin board was the fact that RJs are starting on the BOS/LGA legs during the weekends. That's the way things started on the DCA/LGA side before it eventually went all RJs.

While I'm happy to see the MD90s, it's aggravating to see more 76 seat RJ flying on former mainline routes.....but heck, we let the company have them, I guess they have to put them somewhere.

Lastly, it's a shame to see how badly the company has screwed up the Shuttle. At one time it was a premium product and a cash cow. Ever since they moved control of the Shuttle from New York down to ATL, it's been downhill.

Its highly unlikely that this is a coincidence. Please read the agreement. If the company knew for sure it was getting the 90's they would not have agreed to the settlement. If we take on the number of 90's being mentioned the company will be in compliance with the contract regardless of who's numbers you used. In fact without the settlement if the company had pressed on using their numbers they would have been allowed even more 76 seat airframes. With the settlement they have to use our numbers when the bring new aircraft onboard.

One more thing. They have tried on 5 different occasions to close a deal with the Chinese. Every time we think we have a deal the Chinese change the deal. It is rumored we are very close again to a deal but so far we are 0 for 5. Lets hope this time it goes through. The numbers if we do the ninety deal are rumored to be a minimum of 20 airframes and up to 40. The initial purchase may be a smaller number but there will be a follow on buy. Delta wants a minimum fleet of 36 if they do this.

will the 90's be fleet growth or will they get rid of older 88's at the same time. I know what I am betting:mad:

My thoughts exactly...boring, slow, unfamiliar names, hard to navigate, just don't feel like figuring out the nuiances. Guess I'll hang here from now on.

It's on the ALPA site under the JCBA attachements. Basically it says that if Delta furloughs pilots then furloughed pilots are entitled to vacancies at the DCI carriers if they get ADDITIONAL jets larger than 51 seats after we furlough. If it is a wholly owned carrier we get 100% of the Captain and FO vacancies. If it is not a wholly owned carrier, but leases jets from Delta, then we get 50% of the Captain and FO vacancies. So we would have the flowback to Compass, all the slots at Comair and Mesaba, 50% of the slots at ASA, SkyWest, Shuttle America, Pinnacle, and Mesa. This LOA was signed by NWA and only applied to Pinnacle and Mesaba when signed. It was incorporated into the JCBA with no changes so the way it reads, it now applies to all affiliate carriers of Delta. I guess the RJDC has a deal with ALPA national and they are saying it doesn't apply to Comair and ASA.
