Don't ask that ACL, he might have an answer.

Hot stuff.

I mean my gosh the picture was so small, and it has been up for so long.

Guess I know how I am going to be spending my night on the West Coast. Got to find a picture that is acceptable to the mods.

Maybe you should let us pick one for you.

Holy #$@! That better have been the softest landing in the history of aviation. That's like landing on a pillow.

That is a sled with no breaks. Oh cannot wait for winter in a maddog again.......

I used your suggestion for the lizards, and see where it got me. Pretty good odds though. 6300+ posts and my first trip to the headmaster's office.

These guys can bid other categories now. Be seat locked yes...unless a new category comes out again.

So if ATL A330 comes out on the next bid after this one, and they want to bid it they will not be seat locked.

This is how I understand it.

Bid what you want now...it will not prevent you from bidding for a category that is not yet being offered.

I see what you're saying now, hopefully, the ones that leave the 330 will probably not come back to it just for a base change, otherwise, they would just wait until that happens...;) My wishful thinking! :D

At least Super got to witness the 20,000th post before receiving his time off without pay.

I was talking to a CA I was flying with here on the 88 about what if the 320 showed up, would you bid it? I'd like to think I would but like he said, the first time it shows up you really don't know what you're getting into. Will the trips suck, will you not be as senior as you thought, what are the guys like that fly it and so on.

But you also feel as if you don't bid it then there might not be any vacancies for a while so if you want it you need to bid for it. Hence the wringing of the hands.

Obviously before this AE you knew if you bid XYZ at ABC you'd sit around X%. But with this AE who knows. Thats why bidding % in category on an AE or MD is so important and especially so for commuters or people who have seniority and can get what you want but aren't sure if what they want is something they really want.

It's easy sometimes being on the bottom because the decision is made for you and you never have to look at someone junior and go, man I wish I had done that instead.

When I was hired they put up the drop for the class on the screen and we already knew or heard that NYC ER, NYC 88 we're there and maybe some SLC and CVG stuff. But what they put up there, after showing us DC9, 320, 330 and 744 as a joke was 31 slots for NYC 88 B. And I was like, whew! the decision is made for me and now I don't have to worry about messing it up. Then the real drop came out and Beer talked me into to the ER literally while waiting to bid and I'm glad I did it and I always felt like I'd lose it one day anyways so enjoy it and I did. I never wasted time at a hotel bar, I always tried to hit the road. I think Paris I walked for 10 hours one day.

Glad you enjoyed it, I would've done the same. There's plenty of widebodies at the new DAL and plenty of retirements to come, you'll be back on it before you know it.

Whats the difference between a Cadillac Escalade and a golf ball?

Tiger can drive a golf ball more than 300 yards:D

ACL, how about Tiger and his wife for your avatar?

There are a lot of similarities with the lizzard avatar.

Think about it.

The problem with that theory is that there is sure to be another bid soon after this one. You can displace into a category at say 50%, but you don't know what will happen on the next bid. Did a lot of guys sit on the sidelines and let this one shake out? Are they thinking, wow ABC category went junior so now I will bid in. All you commuters be careful.

Yep, so it is best to do it under and MD and save the VD card for later.....

(we were told to expect two years of shifting to get this airline and crews where they need to be!)

Australia regulator approves Virgin-Delta venture
Thu Dec 10, 2009 12:03am EST

SYDNEY, Dec 10 (Reuters) - Australia's competition regulator has approved a joint venture between Virgin Blue Holdings Ltd (VBA.AX) and Delta Airlines Ltd (DAL.N) for flights between Australia and the United States.

The joint venture was likely to help Virgin and Delta to compete more effectively against Qantas Airways Ltd (QAN.AX) and United Airlines (UAUA.O), the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said in a statement on Thursday. (Reporting by Denny Thomas

Too bad you guys aren't playing Texas or Boise or Cincy to get to Alabama. One half of the BCS championship had a playoff. We beat Fla to get to the title game. UT pulled a huge handful of luck from the bag o' luck to get there. I think you are right, UT isn't even the best team in Texas.

Come on Super I know you are looking. I can hear the screams all the way here! ;)
