No tax implications for a loan, now an early withdrawal is another story.

NFL ticket and NHL center ice are awesome. Last Sunday we started at noon. The last game ended a lot later. Somehow someone found some tequila and some shot glasses. Tequila tastes better after dozens of beers. We had a bow and arrow set one of the guys picked up in Africa. Target practice ensued. Those rusty barbs cause a lot of blood when you pull them out of another dudes hand. Luckily, my neighbors wife is a nurse. She comes downstairs, makes the dude drop his drawers, and sticks a BIG ol' needle in his a$$....tetanus shot. That was just one of the many juvenile things we did that day. Oh, and I won the football pool...yay me!!!

The only implications are you're selling a portion of the stock at the current value. So you lose potential further stock price increase on the stock sold but you're paying yourself back interest on the loan.

This penalty only applies to withdrawals and not loans.

I have no intentions of doing so, but thanks for the warning.

You don't have to sell your shares to take out a loan. You can sell other investments held in your 401k instead, if desired.

So I was awarded a new category on the May AE with a projected conversion of December. A quick check of the sim schedule for that category shows my name nowhere on the schedule for sims in December. As I understand it, I do not have to fly in my current category after December 1st. Correct?

Not that I have an ego or anything (my wife and kids have long since disposed of that), but I can't even begin to count the times I've been alone in the cockpit and have had an interested family or interested kid come up to see the "office". Up until now, when a parent asked me for a pair of wings for their kid, I could say something like, "Oh, I'm sorry, we haven't had those for some time now. How about I plop your son/daughter up in the seat and take a picture with your camera?"

Now I get to say, "Sorry. The Captain's off punching a grupmy. Would you like to wait in the jetway until he gets back so he can access his Customer Engagement Kit?"

Ridiculous. Either give us all the tools to properly engage and please our customers or give us lassos and revolvers to efficiently herd them on and off the airplane.

-"Sorry, kid. I'm just a copilot. I'm not authorized to give you souvenier wings. If you could only wait until the Captain wipes his butt and gets his pizza......."

I'm sorry, it just reeks of a cheap-assed solution to a very large problem...
Its a Captains airline silly!

In reality every pilot is to get a kit. I think the difference is that the Captains get the business cards with their names on them so they can write special thank you's to the HVC passengers.
