I heard the new pat down procedure is worse than the scan. (Mentally)
Having some non-doctor guy brush against "my junk" is not desirable. The guy I'm flying with said his last captain had to go through it and was visibly shaken and said he felt "violated." Here is a hearsay quote from the DALPA forum attributed to an "ALPA leader." If this is true, I think we have hit an all time low. In my book, accepting something that is unacceptable is unprofessional behavior. |

The point is that as the CSG you should be able to have the assumption that your aircraft, crew, passengers and cargo are secure. This is what the TSA guy I know told me. Part of an ongoing discussion on screening all of us I guess. The premise is that if everyone and everything has been screened, then it is safe to assume we are all working with the same level of assumption for our security.
But that's beside the point. Until crewpass is a reality, properly ID'd crewmembers should only be subjected to current screening practices. Wish ALPA would at least fight for this as opposed to the go along-get along approach. Carl |
I have no idea what ALPA is trying to do since I am not on the Security Committee Carl.
I know I see TSA employees screened all of the time. My point is that everyone on YOUR jet is subject to the same screening. |

If folks who have to pass 10 year background checks, FBI, etc etc, have to be screened like the passengers, those conducting the screening should be subject to the same fate. |
TSA Worker Arrested After Jokes, Fight About Size of Genitalia - FoxNews.com
A TSA worker in Miami was arrested when he "lost his mind" and attacked a colleague who repeatedly made fun of his small penis after the security screener walked through a high-tech scanner that showed his genitalia, according to Miami-Dade police. |

Spot on, flyallnite.
I've racked my brain, and I cannot think of a single time I've ever actually seen a TSA agent screened throughout my career. |
Well, I guess you do not arrive at the airport before the checkpoint opens. I see those guys going though and getting their stuff screened all of the time. It is not every time, just the first time at the start of a shift.
