Per the context of my reply to Columbia (and anyone that might know the answer), yes, it was. We happened to be talking about financial compensation at the time. I tried to draw in a little QOL by drawing in TAFB.

You got any other ways to objectively compare us and SWA? Honest question. Seems like we are going to need some numbers going into negotiations. Not just "they make a lot more than dal and have better QOL"

As I said.. no, I don't have any good metric to compare the two groups. Partially because of the antiquated belief that a 747 captain is somehow more important than a A330 captain or a DC9 captain or.... but really, if pay is first and foremost, then we have to draw a dot at the comparable mission and work it from there. I understand what you were doing with the TAFB addition too, but that only tells part of the story.. but a good effort nonetheless. Like I said in an earlier post too, it is a real shame that the commuter airline that flies 737s has become the gold standard.. kind of telling about the industry, no? I can tell you this without having to stretch too much.. because of pattern bargaining, the SWA 737 will set some sort of dot on the payscales, and it will be worked from there.. probably..

For what job? of course now that you have stated a number... how about $132.50? maybe $130.... oh, and reserves have to sit 8 SC days a month... and hard time only? and........

Point is.. and somebody else said it better than I could, but when the TA comes out in 2015, read all the sections OTHER than section 3... then if you like what you read, see how much they are gonna pay you...

Who cares what section people look at first? I'm sure that after MOST people look at section 3 first, they will analyze in detail (may have to start another L&G thread) :) all the other sections and "what if" it to death. My concern would be, like yours, is "what if" certain pay rates are "parked" with the parking of specific aircraft types or even numbers for any reason. A big 747 rate is great, but doesn't mean diddly if 12 people get to see it.

For that glorious day when the TA is announced, we ought to assign teams by nb and wb line holder and reserve and jump into stuff like section 23 then post. may even be worth hiding it in a far off thread.
