Thanks for the Book Buzz! The signed copy was a welcomed treat!

(if anyone tells me commuting is a choice I will... well I just will)

That being said, Brother Buzz what do you foresee with the April bid?

It helps to live in California. NYC designs it but those in SOCAL wear it. I saw the Devil wears Prada. It takes years for that stuff to get to Belk and Kohls here in the ATL and a few years before it makes it to the Cahulawassee River area here in Georgia.

Paddle faster, paddle faster.

Heyas,

The problem with DCI is that the costs there wouldnt just have to escalate past mainline costs, but go way beyond. Outsourcing today is like low fares at SWA, it's just assumed to be a given as a good deal unless some really sits down and takes a sharp pencil to it.

There are a lot of intangibles that would br good if DAL took that flying in house. If RA announced tomorrow that they'd placed an order for 76-100 seaters, and would insource all that flying over a 5 year period, he would own the pilot group...especially the junior half, and would probably roll into section 6 with a lot of goodwill.

Nu

Well said and man I wish that'd come true.

In the interim, you know, if you were trying to win the section 6 game, order 15 E175s, take delivery of 5 through 2013. Train some pilots. Sign the contract with all of the goodwill and then send the planes to DCI. Evil yes. I'm evil. I need to go repent.

That said, I never understood the CEOs and Boards who don't get that instead of posturing that some take against their pilots to show they mean business and they'll fight to the death when we all know that's not in their interest anyways. I'm not talking about today's Delta, I'm talking about looking across the system to say the Trans States' of the industry.

Really, what they should do is exactly what you said Nu, spend a dime and save a dollar by breaking the hostility. Not breaking the union but breaking the hostility. If they experimented with a few E-Jets at DAL like AAI did with 320s, it'd be interesting to see how that'd go down.

Wonder why this article is on the front page of DLNet.

Boeing takes orders for 10 777s in latest week
March 4, 2011

The Boeing Co. received orders for 10 777s and lost orders for two narrowbody 737s this week, Reuters reported.

Boeing said on its website that the 777 orders include two previously announced from TAM, Brazil’s largest airline. The customers for the other eight 777s were unidentified.

Airbus said this week that customers canceled more Airbus aircraft than they bought in January and February, the company with three net cancellations, the article said.

I wouldn't read too much into it! The news section of DLnet always has those articles posted, and it rarely is when we purchase any aircraft and then only when it is a done deal. They don't usually hint and anything...

Wad told it would take 50-70 grand to get her in the air again.... It needs to be done and I have an idea to get it going if anyone is interested..... Drop me a PM and I give an outline.... Think this would be a good "come together" moment for Delta Land. May have to overcome some political fences to make it work....

$50 a pilot, 1500 pilots and you'd be flying again.

Just put some better rules on who gets to lay their hands on her. SUCH AS, active line pilots only with XYZ amount of tailwheel time.

Or take a small small % of what DALPA sends to ALPA National and get it flying again.

With born on dates of 2011 or 2012 though?

Anyone have tips on booking One Great Team passes? It looks to me like most of Europe for this entire summer has little to no availability. I guess 10 seats per flight goes fast, but they must have blocked off popular destinations (like FCO) for significant amounts of time?

And, unless I'm missing something, the only way to see whether a flight is available is to look for a SLIGHTLY darker radio button and try clicking on it. My eyes hurt from looking at the screen! Delta technology rocks!
