No worries. My undestanding is this spring/summer were better then hoped for, & there is still plenty of time for the fall. :)

Correct, our loads are shaping up nicely for this spring, and summer.
Time will tell, with 667,000 jobless claims last month, things are getting worse. The White House is predicting 8.1% as the top unemployment rate. If this holds true, we are probably very close to it now.

After you protect your ALPA brothers at Midwest, right?

NWA/Delta used Midwest to block AirTrans growth plan and the pilots at Midwest were caught in the cross-fire. Give 400 dues paying ALPA members at Midwest a break. They took a bullet for you.

Where is your code of conduct?

I think that the fall loads will end up like the spring and summer loads have. The spring and summer loads looked horrible and then people started buying tickets. People are just waiting until the last minute to purchase stuff in case they don't have a job. I think the fall bookings will look good starting around late July or early August.

With fare sales and kids free promotions at Disney World, even people on unemployment will go on vacations. And don't forget all the extra income people are going to have when they get bailed out of their high mortgage payments. Those people can go on vacation with their extra bailout income, then ask for another bailout when they've spent money they should have saved.

Remind me, what did the pilots of Midwest do for Skyway pilots?

Delta had nothing to do with the TPG/NWA purchase of Midwest.

You might look around, any other small airlines having any financial difficulties? Aloha, SkyBus, Frontier, ATA....? Could it have been the business model Midwest used that is causing it to fail?

You wrote the above in response to NuGuy who said this:

So MD80, you seem a little confused. Section 1 (Scope) is not and has never been designed to protect the jobs of another carrier. The Railway Labor Act doesn't even allow an airline to bargain for the benefits of another carrier. Pretty simple concept...really.

Slowplay is right when he says Delta had nothing to do with that. This was a business decision by NWA to try and hurt AirTran.

Again, Slowplay is right on this. You guys took the bullet for your management team's poor business acumen - as is the case with all of us who have/had poor management.

My code of conduct is to try and back the concept of gaining the most for my airline's pilots and for the profession itself. Where was your code of conduct when Midwest went out and AirTran'd the industry? Oops...now I sound like you...I know you would have had nothing to do with that business decision of your management. Where was your code of conduct when you did nothing to increase pay and benefits of the professional airline pilot??

You don't need our help. With that superior intellect and cheery attitude I am sure you will have no trouble finding another job.
