No, I didn't have anything that I needed to plan for.

I'm in your situation. I'm waiting for a MD-88 class. I still have nothing scheduled. Where do I look? I've checked ICrew and PBS calender. Is there somewhere else to look? It would be nice to be able to plan my holiday season. Do you actually have a class date assigned to you?

Does anyone know what happens to a carry-in trip that finishes on your conversion date? ie. I convert and have a trip that ends, on 01DEC. Does that trip get dropped? Do they drop the last day and DH me home on the 30th? Do they take the whole trip and positive space me to OGG?

Good question my friend... I've got the same thing going on Dec 1. Maybe one of the contract gurus will shed some light on it?

The sim schedules on the crew resources page looks out two months. That is a good place to look. Also, if you call crew resources they will tell you where they are at. I spoke with them a few days ago and they said I definitely am benched for December and she was not sure about January, call in two weeks.

Thanks. I'm hoping to go to training in July. When are you moving to SLC?

Entertaining, it is NOT! Disturbing? Absolutely. I think this young man has a point (somewhere there in his "reporting".) I absolutely support the law enforcement community, so lemme' be clear on that. However, I think our legislature is completely out of control with the TSA, et al. How in the world what they do does not rise to "...unreasonable search and seizure...", I cannot fathom. I applaud this guy.

entertaining was meant in sarcasm, i should've put a  i guess. He points out the problem in the system and the slope the government is making steeper. Our reactionary government first makes us take shoes off, underwear bomber now causes us to go through nudy machines or get felt up, so if the next guy shoves a bomb us his rearend like the bomber did over in the middle east, what will the government make us do !

Like what was mentioned before, we as pilots shouldnt be forced to go through radiation machines 4-5 times a week! For the avg passenger that doesnt travel every week it may not be a big deal but we shouldnt be exposed to this regularly nor should we face regular fondle jobs.

Man, either you did not read what I wrote, or I am one colossal poor communicator. Read NewKnow & Jughead's response...I think they get my drift.

Hey Super92,
I figured you meant it in a cynical manner, but sometimes the written word is a poor tool of communication (unless you're Buzz!!). ****es me off to see what a hand full of morons w/ box cutters have driven us to.

I'm supposed to go to 88 school in December. I just called today and December is out of the question. January might be as well. I'm not complaining!! PM me if you want the phone number.

You asked: Which Constitutional right is being violated?

I answered: Unreasonable search and seizure. Privacy. Neither is an absolute right. Both must be weighed, benefit vs. infringement.

As a pilot, can we as a group say we are separate from the public and the risks we pose to the system are minimal and any intrusive search on us is unconstitutional? Yes. Can we argue that the alternative backscatter machines pose an unsafe health risk to us over the normal traveling public because of our already high exposure to radiation and the only option we have is to go through the "excessive search?" Yup. Can we say this search is unreasonable in light of the fact that we undergo heightened security checks and background searches? Absolutely.

If you want me to find a better way for the TSA to stop the underwear bomber, that's not my job. Force everyone through the bacskatter machine if need be.

My concern is for us as pilots. Is the TSA slowly killing us by bombarding us with excessive x-rays 10 times a month? In light of all the scrutiny we go through already, are they trampling on our rights by "frisking" us when we pose a minimal threat to the system?

How many pilots have been caught with a bomb between their nuts? If the number is zero, we have a case to be made that the frisk is unreasonable and unconstitutional.

New K

A "back scatter" machine omits the body cavities that seem to be the next hiding place. TSA needs to have a "cat scan" machine that can scan through the entire body.
