I agree, dogs do a way better job in a practical setting than ANY machine in existence. |

Won't it cost DAL revenue if less people fly because they don't want to go through these things? Not sure how many people would decide not to fly because of them .....
If the TSA doesn't run off all our pax, Clark Howard will. I'm listening to him now singing his praises of AirTran/SWA, and what a great idea it is to drive to BHM from ATL to get into their network. He's absolutely giddy over these great deals! I've never heard him bash another company the way he does to Delta. |

I see your point but hopefully the passengers will make enough of a fuss that this goes away. IMHO, we already have given up so many liberties because of terrorists that in some ways they have already won. Freedom is not really free if you give up all your liberties in the process.
No soap box, just my humble O. These full body imaging machines and lame-duck pat down procedures are nothing more than government waste on the world's most expensive discrimination prevention devices. We need security that focus in on suspicious behaviors early on in the process, as opposed to using a cookie-cutter approach to every single person boarding on an airplane. While I agree with your statement to an extent, we have become so concerned with our freedoms and liberties, at times, we are so fearful to react in any way that could be identified as discriminatory. |
Why aren't we using the easiest method first - PROFILE!! We subject average folks to the most demeaning searches because we don't want to appear to be discriminating.
The PC insanity has to stop. Call a spade a spade and search the folks who fit the profile. Frisk a couple of random folks but I'm pretty sure you can skip the little kids and the grandparents. The hot mothers of the kids however, are a different story! |
Lemme see....

Could the TSA stop that...... apparently not, probably too close to the holidays. Lemme see, Billions and billions of dollars spent and we cant even stop the self declared, obvious terrorists. Did anyone in the gov lose their jobs over that oversight that but for the grace of god failed to kill the hundreds of pax on the dal flight? Didn't think so. |

I know there is a run on sniffing dogs for Afghanistan, but it's not like they are a scarce resource. We can make more dogs. NYC cops in gear with dogs would be way more effective than the smurf nazis we have now.

I would imagine it will become noticible pretty soon if they keep this up...especially considering the number of these things they plan on installing by the end of next year. The money spent would buy a whole lot of bomb-sniffing pound puppies. :)

Anybody ever had to use DPMA? Do you have to apply for it or does it automatically kick in when necessary? I am sure I can find out the answers if pointed in the right direction. Thanks!
Several DAL-N guys were never told about the checklist or the 30 days and are now stuck at 300 hours sick used over the last 36 months. No help from the CP. No help from ALPA. Just another thing we were supposed to absorb via bulletin I guess. Edit: I have been told DPMA checklist is not a DAL Document. I'm sure there is an obscure reference to the 30 day rule somewhere in a DAL document. Bears me where it is located. |
Why are we issuing asset-backed bonds, when we have so much cash?
