Just figured out that if we divided up the $85 million between the pilots we would only get about $7K each. Better get MORE than the $85 million if we're gonna give it up.

You willing to trade job protection for pay?

This is worth a heck of a lot more than 85 million. Do not kid yourself. DAL not interviewing its candidates might be considered emotional. That is huge.

Yes, I said shenanigans. So pistol whip me...

We are in complete agreement. I see more shifting ahead.

I thought I'd set my alarm, get up at 1 and see what tidbits ACL was dropping or at the least see what 80 had gotten into. :D

How come Comair wasn't announced yesterday with the rest of them?

It blows my mind how helpless our schedulers are. They can't do anything that the computer doesn't tell them to do, can they? I start 5+ days tomorrow. Another reserve is good for 4 days.

Scheduling gives me a 4 day, and leaves the other guy on short call. Now normally this wouldn't be a big deal since we are both in the 4 day bucket, but.....there are 6 four days and a 5 day starting on the 3rd. There are now 3 guys to cover them. I even called them and asked them, and they said that's how the computer did it. I said I understand why the computer did it, but you guys are just hosing yourselves. Think outside the box for crying out loud!!!

Seems to me they are essentially wasting a reserve.

That department started a downward spiral about 4 months ago, and it is getting exponentially worse by the hour.... I called my rep about it....

Ever tried going international (Africa) with your better half out of JFK ??? Amazing what they come up with for the $$$ they make by selling those buddy passes. Seems like the company is doing something to prevent it now though..

I don't think they get another bite at the apple. In fact, I encourage them to go enjoy their retirement.

First of all you are making a huge assumption that any of this pipedream of divving up monies will ever happen, but for the sake of argument: Were you not paying attention during/after BK? I do not know of a single person that was made whole by the note/claim/whatever... Enjoying one's retirement by saying "welcome to Walmart, I love you" is probably not most guy's idea of "retirement".

To MSP based folks...

Is there a commuter room/bad drop downstairs in the F concourse - or is just in the crew lounge next to the FA lounge? How about an iron/ironing board down there too? Just tired of commuting in in uniform to sit all day.

Thanks and Cheers...

If you are looking at the reserve availablilty, that is bad information. It doesn't tell you WHEN the other guy became available or when he is unavailable. It just looks at some funky day thingy that makes it look as if he is on the hook. I have talked to skeds about this before, and they are clueless about the info we are getting. Dalpa knows about this too, and I doubt seriously if they can/will be able to do anything about it. It sucks.

T I agree.

Ad Lib,

Yeah our pension was "shored" up so well that it's not there any more!
