Speaking of hats, I'm in Kiev now and let me tell ya', nobody wears a hat like the former Soviet Union boys do. Some of them have hats so big they can fit two emblems on the front. It makes my Delta hat look tiny by comparison :D

Scheduling took the whole trip off my schedule and I went back to my crashpad. Shouldn't I be pay protected for that trip since I signed in for it? At the minimum I should at least get "suit up pay" for it, right? It's not that big of a deal for me since I'm not going to break guarantee this month, but I want to make sure scheduling is following the contract. Thanks!

NO!
You get suit up pay of two hrs. No more no less. It is contractual.

Exactly. Now I'm all for getting whatever we can get... profit sharing, whatever. But I've seen DALPA officials talk as if profit sharing is somehow going to make us whole for a lot of the cuts we have taken.

Which DALPA official made this statement and when?

Or are you making stuff up again?

So on the profit sharing of $4500..whats it work out to in hourly wages, ie 20 hours for a 77 capt...so an extra 1+ hours per month over a year?

I know that you kids were taught new math and all, but it looks a little strange to me to take an "average" profit sharing check and "average" that into the highest paying position.

Profit sharing is based on pre-tax income. The numbers that Alfa's guestimating would provide around a 4% (including DC contributions) pay boost for active pilots. I'll take that. I'm hoping for more, but we do work in the airline industry.

I thought suit-up pay was only applicable if a rotation is canceled before sign in?

4.H.2. A short call reserve pilot who is removed from a rotation or portion thereof will receive suit-up pay and credit if Crew Scheduling first attempted to notify him of such removal less than two hours before his scheduled report.

I was already at the airport and signed in when they removed the rotation. Maybe I'm just interpreting this thing wrong?

Slow,

Can you dumb this down a little for me please? I'm reading Sec 3.I Profit Sharing Plan. It says the payout calculation is based on PTIX which is pre-tax income levels, right? So if the company makes $0-2.5 billion then 15% of the PTIX is paid.

Does that mean 15% goes to the pilot group, & then the pilots split that 15%? Is our individual shares then based on PTIX, or is split evenly among all pilots?

Thanks for putting it in simple terms. :p

By the way, I tried to email two different ALPA reps today and both emails were sent back to me as undeliverable. Anybody else had any problems sending ALPA an email today?

Took it to mean that the profit sharing check would be about $4500 per pilot...so how would that represent 4%, unless you were using $100K as the average salary? Never did well in new math. Just trying to see what it would mean to the average pilot in terms of additional hours.

Reserves do not get rotation guarantee. As I am sure Slow is typing as I do, you will get the 5:15 duty credit only if you go over guarantee based upon duty periods in a given month, and suit up pay as a min. You get the suit up pay mid rotation as well.
