It blows my mind how helpless our schedulers are. They can't do anything that the computer doesn't tell them to do, can they? I start 5+ days tomorrow. Another reserve is good for 4 days.
Scheduling gives me a 4 day, and leaves the other guy on short call. Now normally this wouldn't be a big deal since we are both in the 4 day bucket, but.....there are 6 four days and a 5 day starting on the 3rd. There are now 3 guys to cover them. I even called them and asked them, and they said that's how the computer did it. I said I understand why the computer did it, but you guys are just hosing yourselves. Think outside the box for crying out loud!!! Seems to me they are essentially wasting a reserve. I guess by letting a computer do it means a person is not blamed but the computer logic is when hindsight becomes 20/20. Take the human factor out I guess is the plan, for better or for worse but hopefully, eventually, for the better. Kind of like the screens at the gate to show you where you are on the standby list, its nice to know a computer is following the rules and you're not getting screwed by a gate agent who is screwing you by putting their friends and family buddy passes ahead of employees. |

Just figured out that if we divided up the $85 million between the pilots we would only get about $7K each.

$5 grand total or per pilot?

What I don't know about are the CRJ-200's at Mesaba and Pinnacle.
They are on "inter-library loan" to cover for the aircraft being rotated through the paint shop. |

Actually, wouldn't it be just like Delta to have their pilots pay good money to accomplish something that was already part of "The Big Plan"? |
The 30 day extension on the LGA slot deal expires tomorrow, are we going to let the deal die or fight for it?

If you look at the new ASA between Pinnacle and Delta, the Comair planes are now Pinnacle's...not just on loan anymore. I guess every DCI carrier has to have something with a tail number ending in "CA." |

I'll expect my four years of retro pay in the next paycheck. :D |
I think there's at least one more layer to go in DL's regional shenanigans.
Yes, I said shenanigans. So pistol whip me... |
