I really agree with you - like I posted above, my Airtran buddy says the word there is SWA likes the plane.

But the part I really agree with, is that Delta doesn't want a 100 seater. If they wanted one, they would of had one.

Just remember, if you feel that you're lost, or going astray....simply ask yourself "what would Nu do?"

single category for Saudi MD-90's and 717's????

Maybe with cockpit overhauls on more than one fleet. Lots of differences for the FAA to buy off on it I think.......The current setups would definitely require training every 90 days.....

I think not. The overhead panels are completely different, the DFGC's are completely different, the pedestal set up is completely different.
717 pedestal and dfgc
Saudi MD-90 pedestal and dfgc
717 overhead
Saudi MD-90 overhead

I've heard. FWIW, JT8Ds like to blow out too but of course they're not as young. Are you guys using less power than before on climb out? If so, is that to save the engine wear and tear? I ask because given the size of the engines I'd figure they'd climb like a bat out of hell but I've caught a few lately in the climb and it made me think that it might be a reduced power procedure for fuel or engine life.

It may be one of the reasons why SWA is like "you really want em'? Have em'. We can get 737s." I think for DAL they'd like to work through those problems if they can get young 117 seaters for a very good price.

Of course DAL getting the 717s from AAI as AAI becomes SWA is ironic given the 9s that went to Valujet from Delta. Maybe the only reason Delta wants to do this is to complete the circle? The circle of life? Hakuna Matata.

I'm hoping that you guys didn't misinterpret this statement; "the 717 Sims are moving to DAL" ..... There is a DAL in Texas, and it's not an airline.

I can confirm that Gary Kelly told the AirTran MEC Chair in a face to face meeting a week ago that the 717's will stay at Southwest. All of them and then some :D

:rolleyes:I like Apple products, but I really hate their corporate arrogance. Especially when it comes to pricing and the RDF. RDF for you non-bitheads is what geeks call the Reality Distortion Field around Steve Jobs whenever he talks about the latest and greatest product from Apple.

In that spirit for all you RDF fans, here is the a biased demo of the upcoming RIM Playbook vs. Apple iPad.

Our DL employee discount on iPads is a whopping $10 to $14. Woot!

Many thanks to all the DTW320B's that bid down to reserve for December. Sure gonna be nice to not be commuting to reserve.

A month of no reserve will be nice! Congrats to you too! :D

I'm sure it won't last though. :(
