It is what they are to do. Point is that they are doing what we have demanded. No more "received" resolutions.

Default LAX Pilots - Non California Residents

Did anyone else receive a notice from CA stating you were supposed to file a CA tax return?

1. If so, did you?
2. If not, where did you get the answer to the questions of whether to file or not?

Thanks (I realize no one is giving me Official Tax advice).

Are you based in LA and not live here? I get GA tax requests for the few days I spend in ATL for recurrent. Seems to me that's not kosher either. I don't file those but they've still withheld GA state income tax.

Good. Then maybe it's time to revisited (or resubmit if necessary) some of the ignored... err, I mean... "received" resolutions. That would be a good test to see if this new administration really is "bottom up" or just more of the same.

Buzz,

Actually I never received the money for my initial training for the same reason. Although you can get that money back (it wasn't much based on training pay back then) because you were based in ATL and you were actually working in ATL (during training) AND Delta was GA based they were required to with hold GA state taxes. You could have gotten that money back by filing a GA non-resident tax return. This CA thing is different because I don't live or work (picking up an airplane that takes a couple of hours in LAX is not working in LAX). Delta is not a CA based company. This is the first time it's happened to me (I was an Engineer in LAX as a new hire and didn't have to put up with this).

DAL73n,

When I was based in LAX I got one of those letters too. Talk to the LAX CPO secretary. She has dealt with this numerous times and can help you out.

Do we have the ability to trade/swap vacation days with another pilot?

1. No I didn't file.
2. There was a section on the form sent to me that somewhat listed my situation (same as yours if you don't live in CA).

See my previous post. She can help.
