Here's some great news. Citigroup reported today they are operating at a profit, & AT&T announced they would ADD 3000 jobs this year. :)
The market is doing well today off the Citigroup report. Let's hope we are seeing the begining of a rebound. :) Then the "Messiah" will come on and talk about how bad things are and the market will tank again. |

Now I do not know how we cannot furlough at least two to three hundred pilots with this announcement.

Your killin' me man. First you say furloughs are likely, then NO furloughs, now furloughs again. I know this industry is dynamic but please tell me you're not firing in all directions so you can come on here later and say I told you so a la Michael Boyd.
What I then stated what that it needs to be profitable for DAL to do so. With these cuts we are now right on the line. We might be able to make a business case for it. Other factors include all of the training that need to be done prior to SOC, and the fact that we have a lot of jets showing up that will probably offset the cuts. I also stated that the numbers had not been crunched. If you look at the data with out all of the other circumstances that we DAL have (CPZ flow, the merger, a/c on order, furlough protection) it makes sense to let a few hundred go. If you add this stuff it gets very very close. I should have more of a firm answer in a day or two. |
ACL, are you gonna be at the MEC meeting friday?
I think those of us who go should wear our name tags with our APC name on them. :) |

I still suggest an APC reunion at some "watering hole" in ATL when all us "northies" (think tailies on Lost) come down for charm school. Only APC name tags allowed.
