255 is the max and they can add about 15 or so more 70 seaters and no 76 seaters. Save the drama. They are still in compliance. If anything the fact that these are 70's and not 76 seat jets should make you realize something.

 

When I was getting ready to blast out of shanghai a couple weeks ago, a China eastern md90 was landing. I thought those were already in our possesion (in the form of a question). Are Chinese pilots or DAL pilots or outside contractors ferrying these to the US?

 

Remember when Fox News and other talk show hosts reported on this (the government studying whether to steal 401Ks)? The gov and their media folks came out swinging saying that they lied about those reports. Then it was revealed that the Congress had hearings, and out of those hearings some of the ideas being floated was to take away any tax incentives and to support having Americans flip their 401Ks into Guaranteed Retirement Accounts which give you a whopping 3% return on investment.

So, are they trying to steal it? Not really. They're just want to take away any incentive for you to save by either taxing it to death making it not worth your while, or they're going to offer something different that they can borrow more debt against while giving you a crappy return.

As I understand it: (disclaimer!)

The airplanes are flown to VCV by their pilots and are on a schedule as to when they will arrive. Those are public record as being bought by us, so if they are still actively flying there, they are still scheduled for delivery.

When one comes over from what I have gathered, their pilots ferry it on a four day trip across the pacific to VCV where we take position. A few of the flights have been tracked and posted on here over the last year.

 

The thing is that this deal would have to be backed by both houses of congress and not that the new congress has taken over, it is not going to be a player.

I am a little slow today (ok, everyday) but what is the significance of the 70 seater vs 76 seat purchase other than the company is already maxed out on the number of 76 seaters?

I am sure they would prefer the 76 seater.
