In all fairness, I commented on the Mod threads on a reported post. I have asked the mods to reaffirm how we moderate reposted articles of political nature. Like I have said, we have previously allowed them until the bashing started. We will see of the consensus has changed.

I thought our 70 seaters were pretty much maxed out, but who's counting (certainly not ALPA)?

Is this board going to become just another red/blue garbage pit then please let us know. Since most on this board, including you, have a right wing bias, you let repeated violations of the terms of service go on. In the past, this type of post was removed immediately. So if this is going to become the "right wing airline pilots forum" then please let us know.
that is too political and is mudslinging. Deleted. :D |

Reserve question:
If you are on reserve for 9 days straight they have to give you a 24 hour rest period somewhere within 7 days (overnight or other). Lets say they assign you rest from 10pm to 10pm on the 5th - 6th day. Are you required to acknowledge anything while on rest? Specifically short call at 6am the day after rest? I know they have to give 10 ours for conversion to short call so think 8am would be the earliest if acknowledged at 10pm the night before. Also, since you're not on an X day you wouldn't be required to check your schedule after 3pm the day before (in this case while on rest). Is this right? Thanks. Several different contract sections control this and the schedulers don't do a very good job of abiding by it because it is confusing. If you are on "rest" and they call you with any assignment, best to wait until near the end of "rest" or after to call and ask what they are doing. Think of "rest" as your last X day and adjust the times according to when your rest ends. If they start talking about "add-on rest", call the ALPA office and ask for someone in scheduling. This is my understanding of this issue and I am not a contract guru.:) |
Man that was grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreat!

I can attest to having a WSJ news article (non-opinion piece) removed from this board that was free of commentary. Just saying. |

Bid like you normally would bid. They will award a line or shadow line depending on when you are projected on completing IOE. You will see MMC on your line until that projected date. |
Mod note
Since we all seem to have problems discussing industry pertinent issues without leaning left or right I've deleted anything that brushes the political nature. Articles, posts, quotes, etc are deleted.
Politics stink, so let's talk about other things. |
