No, that can't be, the American people are all just a bunch of simpletons, and elections only come down to who has the most money. That must be exactly what our Four Fathers wanted, a country where an election can be bought. Now that my little daily bout of sarcasm is over with, here's how I really feel. Both sides of the aisle have over-excessive undue financial influence, but at the end of the day it still comes down to our ability to vote responsibly as Americans. There was a time when the Government feared its' citizens, but we have strayed to a point where our citizens fear its' government. Even the back and forth partisan bickering on this board is a testament to there success down in Washington. While we fight amongst ourselves, we are distracted by the true corruption that creeps in and pulls the rug right out from under us, all while pointing the finger at one another. Not trying to attack or make light of your comments, but the article you posted tends to elude to some level of unfairness. I will not defend it or fight it, but either way it doesn't change the fact that the corruption in Washington is destroying our Great Country at a ten-fold rate than the corruption Wall Street. I'd expect it from Wall Street, but not from our "Selfless Elected Government Officials". (I guess I had a little sarcasm left) |

Delta Reaches Settlement to Resolve Claims Against Bankrupt Mesa Air Group
Delta Air Lines Inc. reached an agreement to resolve its claims for payments from regional air carrier Mesa Air Group Inc. as part of Mesa’s bankruptcy reorganization. Delta, which filed claims for more than $67.75 million against Mesa, will have those claims reduced to $7.3 million, Mesa said yesterday in a filing in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York. Mesa said there is “substantial risk” that continued litigation with Delta might not succeed and asked a bankruptcy judge to approve the settlement. Mesa, based in Phoenix, filed for bankruptcy a year ago and is scheduled to seek court approval for a restructuring plan later this month. Under the settlement with Atlanta-based Delta, the two companies will end litigation against each other, according to the court filing. A Delta spokesman didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment. The case is In re: Mesa Air Group Inc., 10-bk-10018, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York (Manhattan). |

United Airlines Pilot's Coffee Spill Forces Emergency Landing Updated: Wednesday, 05 Jan 2011, 7:13 AM EST Published : Wednesday, 05 Jan 2011, 7:02 AM EST A United Airlines flight from Chicago to Germany was forced to make an emergency landing in Canada after a pilot spilled coffee on the plane's radio equipment. UA Flight 940 was carrying 241 passengers on Monday when the 777-200's communication and navigation equipment malfunctioned, prompting the flight crew to land just before 10:00 p.m. local time Monday at Toronto's Pearson International Airport. While the airline refused to confirm that spilled coffee triggered the problem, the detail was noted by the Aviation Herald , a website that logs incidents on commercial flights based on flight data and incident reports. NAV Canada reported that the crew advised of communication problems, and then reported they had navigation problems as well. The crew cycled through the transponder codes for unlawful interference and loss of communication. It said that the FAA reported after contact with the company, that the pilot in command had spilled coffee over the radio equipment which interfered with the communication equipment. He inadvertently sent an unlawful interference code, then changed to loss of communication code. A replacement 777-200 was sent to pick up the passengers and take them back to Chicago, where they were set to board another flight for Frankfurt on Tuesday. |
In all fairness, I commented on the Mod threads on a reported post. I have asked the mods to reaffirm how we moderate reposted articles of political nature. Like I have said, we have previously allowed them until the bashing started. We will see of the consensus has changed.
