I have only cargo jumpseated once, back from Alaska. It was pre-9-11. The only issue was figuring out where to go. After that, the crew, Evergreen, absolutely took care of us. We ended up at Rickenbacker in Columbus OH. at about 4am. Called enterprise...they picked us up and we drove home.

If its convenient, do it, if it is not convenient, don't.

I have not used FedEx, but have J/Sed twice on UPS to HNL. 10 day reservation window and if they get a meal, one will be boarded for you. I had a great time on both.

i used to do it weekly, its a great deal and pretty much a guaranteed ride once you're confirmed. Nothing to really worry about.

Very easy and a great facility in MEM for jumpseating. I used them a lot to go out to Tucson to rehab my condo. Go to FEDEX ALPA Jumpseat website to choose a flight. Call within 24 hrs, go to airport location. Done. There are a few flights that float, they fly a long round about route to MEM at night mostly empty so that they can drop in and pick up cargo if a plane crumps. Not the best choice, but you'll get there.

Ditto. The only problem is getting to/from FedEx ops at each airport.
