What will come first, the slot swap announcement or the AE?

The announcement that AA is going to buy Jetblue:eek:

If they want to "win" New York, that would be the move to make. Of course, Delta would probably benefit more from that move than American over the short term.

Southwest only needs to let the fur fly and wait for the pot of gold to fall out of the sky thanks to LaHood and like minded politicians.

From ALPA:

Did you Know?

ALPA is an international union, butcontract negotiations for each MEC are handled at the local level—with support from ALPA International. Local pilot leaders chart the course of negotiations and make the decisions, but those pilots call on teams of ALPA experts and advisors to guide them through the negotiating process. This extensive team currently includes:
o 42 professional negotiators in ALPA's Representation Dept.
o 13 financial analysts in ALPA's Economic & Financial Analysis Dept.
o 13 attorneys in ALPA's Legal Dept., and others in general counsel's law firm,
o 17 Retirement and Insurance benefit specialists, including 3 benefit attorneys, 2 pension investment advisors, and 1 pension actuary

WOW - 42 negotiators and 13 lawyers and yet we still have loopholes all throughout our Scope section. Loopholes so big, you can fly an Airbus through them, literally.

I really hope these guys tighten it up this go around.

I know I will get a quick answer to this question but where can I find the specifics for the current early out program. I accidently deleted the e-mail about it.

acl65pilot 05-18-2011 09:25 AM

Maddog, it is on the DALPA site and is titled LOA 28.

I see the whole slot swap thing as a giant chess match. We get ours approved, which then give the precedence to allow AMR and B6 to merger. AMR needs us to get approval so that the have a decent argument to keep most of their slots and have of B6's terminal in JFK.

JB dudes chime in if I'm wrong, but ts I'm pretty sure you have almost perfectly described how JetBlue sells their seats.
