I agree, I think that they think DCI is good for DAL. There is a business case for it, but there is also one for the opposite.

They have only started the training on the 88 guys. It will take at least a month to see any of those guys to hit the line.

Furthermore, it looks like you guys will be flying a lot through the summer at a min.

The number of average lines has gone down twice now for two months in NYC MD88 FOs. But, our ALV remains high and above every other category. Doesn't make sense.

So, I still ask the question, why are the ALVs so high for us? I haven't sat reserve since I first enterred the category and didn't bid due to an incomplete month with training. I'm not whining. I'm just concered that other categories could get high ALVs and thus the need for extra pilots goes away.

Anyone figure out how to Certify the Integration Training Phase 1 from home?

It is not on the qualifications page and F6 does not work.

Yes, that's what I am referring to, the six days of short call. How is it working out and what is the long call requirement?

Scheduling can only assign 6 short calls per month. In Jan, I maxed out by the middle of the month and sat home on long call, think they are still getting used to the idea so they aren't budgeting their reserves as well as they could.

This could also be why the average lines are going down, they want more reserve coverage. But that's just a guess.

Are the short call conversions just randomly placed on your schedule? Perhaps they decide to just smack one right in the middle of a 5 day stretch? Or do they maybe put them at the begining/end of a stretch of days? Also, do all 6 conversions to short call happen at the same time, or do can they do it one by one as the month goes on? I would think it would be the second, as that would seem to give them more flexibility.

Thanks

Are you using a Mac? if so, press the "fn" key and the F6 key when you log on to iCrew/ eCrew.

You're trying to apply logic to the illogical:D.

I've tried to put a rhyme or reason to it and so far have not. Have even called scheds a couple of times. What I was told is they have a "procedure" that they use that is independent of the raw score (that just says who flies first).

What has generally happened to me is I'll get a SC on the first day of a 4+ day period of availability and they try to avoid using you on the last day of your availability but I've been used:eek: on my last day and I've had them use me on alternate days (used on day 1 and 3). You can try to steer it a bit by placing slips in (yellow) PCS where you can ask to be first on the list and you can try to specify am or pm but....

Good luck and may the force be with you - you're gonna need it:D

LOL! I figured I get an answer like that. I guess I need to remember that I'm just a pilot and I can't see the whole picture.;)

I hope to stay in DTW, but living in STL I think I can safely sit reserve at home as long as I don't get booted to JFK or LAX.:D

Is it a 12 hour long call?

All times are GMT -8. The time now is 02:10 AM.
